My son was about the same at that age... They were not concerned... Now at 12 Almost 13 i have had to jump up and down to get someone to refer him to a specialist. The first specialist said he will grow, they monitored him for 2 years and each time his projected height went down.... We found Magic Foundation and they gave us the name of a doc who seems much more sensible.... The second specialist we went to said it is late but they can still help him, he may not make his full height now but he will not end up 5 feet tall.... It has been stressful years for him. My only concern now is will he have a greater chance of getting cancer if he takes HGH? I am reading, asking, and talking to everyone I can find!

my son is 4 and weighs 25 lbs...  He has never been on the growth charts, but his drs showed concern pretty early.. when he continually fell further and further behind, then they really statred pushing for testing

I have 3 girls who were never on the chart.  2 of them are now on HGH shots.  they don't like to do the tests until they are at least 5 most times.  Because if they are not under the 10% most insurances won't pay.  So keep on it and ask them about the arganeen (sp) test.
