I'm 4 mos post-op, and I was finally starting to feel normal. But I don't know what has gotten into me lately the past few days. I have no energy again. I don't know if it's because I overdid it the past couple of weeks, but all I want to do is sleep. And no matter how much I sleep, I am still exhausted. Then I realized that I've only been drinking 32 oz or less each day this week, even though I am carrying my water or crystal light with me. I've not been eating much either, and I know I haven't been getting enough protein, but I am so nauseous that I don't even want to think about eating. I feel like crap. :-(

I'm going to my monthly support group on Wednesday and to my doctor on Thursday. I'm really hoping I don't have to get another IV. yuck

Did any of you feel like this suddenly?

I'm doing a lot better now. I'm able to get my protein in and I have the energy to work and exercise again. I did end up getting another IV though. All my blood work looks good now.

Oh the hair loss!! I never realized how much hair I had until it started falling out. LOL!

I got my haircut and some highlights added to try and make it look fuller. I got a boost at my support group tonight because I got some compliments on it. I just keep reminding myself that it won't all fall out, and it will grow back. :-)

My arms and legs have been going numb a lot and today I had heart palpitations again, so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing my doctor tomorrow morning. There's something going on.

I'm going back to the doctor on Thursday, so hopefully they can figure out what's wrong. I'm still trying to get my shakes in (my hubby is good about pestering me to drink a least 1 a day), and I've been good about taking my vitamins, calcium citrate, b12 and potassium. I feel like I did when they first figured out my potassium was critically low. I wonder if my potassium supplement isn't enough anymore. I wonder about the iron too because I have some of the symptoms for anemia. I had so much energy a couple of weeks ago, and now it's just completely gone.

At 4 months post-op I was eating food, but still mainly getting my 60-80 grams of protein with protein shakes every day! I didnt like them, but I looked for the one's with least amount of sugar, used water and added splenda! I found it was easier to drink 3-4 a day. Obviously you cant chug it, but I sipped on it for an hour or so. The no energy is very common, your body has gone through a huge shock and decrease in nutrional absorption. Are you taking a multi-vitamin? and sublingual b-12 tabs 2-3 times a week?or do they have you on the injectable b-12 monthly?  B-12 and Iron checks are CRITICAL, for many reasons, but also for energy! And even 5 years post-op, I NEVER leave the house , go anywhere or do anything without a huge bottle of water, ice tea, or something to drink! I still sip ALL the time, cause I feel thirsty ALL the time. It's hard to get used to, even now! Definatly follow up with your doctor and he might need to check your iron and b-12 levels?  Good Luck! any thing else i can answer please feel free to write me!
