How to prepare sqaush for a baby?

I know it might sound like a silly question, but I've only ever made squash once and the recipe had sugar in it.
So how would I go about preparing squash to make it into babyfood for a 6 month old?
I've had great success with yams, carrots and peas... well she didn't like the peas, but they were easy to make.

Peel off the skin , cut into cubes and steam it for about half an hour. Then when it is finished, mash it like mashed potatoes and feed to baby. No sugar required.

I just cut it right down the middle and put it flesh side down in a deep dish with just an inch of water. I cover with foil. Let it cook until the the skin is nice and soft. Then you can just scoop it right out and store...butternut squash is my lil ones fave!

Try adding orange. You can zest some orange peel, and squeeze some of the ornage juice in also. mash it all together with a little cinnamon.

I've always homemade all of our son's food and squash is one of his favorites! I cut the squash up into cubes and lay them out onto a baking sheet. I add a little bit of extra virgin olive oil and butter and bake at 350 for about an hour. Our son is 15.5 months and can just eat the cubes but if need be you can just mash the squash up for a younger baby. Enjoy!
