I have a 3 year old son, that i am thinking of homeschooling for preschool in the fall when he turns 4. the preschools in my area are not very good and i was planning to just do homeschool for preschool and then decide if i want to continue or send him to kindergarten. i am thinking of using either rightstart or mus primer for math, reading the books from the before five in a row list, handwriting without tears get set for school because that is what they are currently using in our school district, the world god made and a fun science experiment book for preschoolers just for fun science days (not everyday maybe just once a week or whenever he is feeling like a fun science day), and evan moores geography for beginnings (also for fun geography days, not everyday), and for reading i was debating on how to teach your child to read in a 100 easy lessons or all about reading program? we are currently having fun with little hands to heaven from heart of dakota, and will continue that till the fall time. does anyone have any suggestions?

Cumon has some excellent preschool workbooks that help develop eye/hand coordination with tracing, mazes, cutting, folding, etc.

Just remember to keep it fun for him. The foundation you lay now will effect his attitude as he grows up. Getting the idea that school is "fun" will be the greatest gift you can give him, whether you continue to homeschool or send him to public school.
