Jeez, just read this article and i can't believe that the sentence was so little!!
A 16 year old father got annoyed by his 7 week old daughter not feeding and shook her to death.
He claims he didn't do it and shows NO remorse.

What do you all think? Was the sentence fair?

I don't agree with the sentencing and I don't think that this boy should be let off so easily. He was at the effing hospital...I mean, if he was having difficulty feeding the baby he should have consulted the nurse as many times as he needed to. The baby was there with an infection...she probably felt like shit and didn't want to eat but because this asswipe wanted to force her to eat because he was tired of it, he decided to shake her so badly that it killed her! This is why teen pregnancy/parenthood isn't a good idea...most teenagers are not ready for the massive responsibilities of 24-7 childcare. But when teenagers decide to be parents to the children they create, then parenting classes should be mandatory---I'm so sick of reading stories like this one. And this boy has NO excuses...he was surrounded by thousands of people that could have easily helped him through the frustrations of feeding a fussy baby!

Under different circumstances I would say it was fair. I think we all know how frustrating screaming babies can be, and to be immersed in that as a 16 year old boy has to be even harder. What he did was wrong, and if I thought he knew that and would feel horrible for the rest of his life then it would make sense to me. I have sympathy for people when they're under so much pressure that they crack. I can't feel so sympathetic for him when he was surrounded by people who could have helped him, could have given him a break, so on. So under these circumstances I don't think its fair, not in the slightest.

I don't get that either Sharon, and considering the fractures were only 2 weeks old, how did the hospital miss that too?

Once again... how in gods name did the "mother" miss the signs that her child was in pain.. AGONY.

Think about how you pick up a baby... by the rib cage. Every friggen time someone picked her up they were squeezing those fractures.. WHO MISSES THAT???

It is absolutely disgusting. If he was full of remorse and it had happened while he was home alone with the baby I MIGHT have felt a little different, but this guy shows a very clear and utter disregard for the value of the life he took and I think if he gets out in 2.5 years there is a very real risk of history repeating itself with another child. He makes me sick.

I'm sure they found the injuries after the little girl was found to be shook to death. There's no way it was an accident if she had prior evidence of abuse either. This guy is a pig.

That's sad! I can understand someone being at their wits end with a newborn though, mom & dad! Lack of sleep does horrible things to someone!!! I don't think what he did was right, I mean how in the heck does she have all those injuries??? That's just insane! And did the hosp know that at the time she was admitted? Or was it found out after her death? Because I think if they knew she had all those injuries then they shouldn't have left that poor child with her parents!!! I think 2.5 yrs for manslaughter seems rediculous! I suppose if it was an accidental death? But then wouldn't he have shown remorse for even causing an accident like that? I sure hope momma doesn't believe that sorry piece of crap!

I think he should be shook, beat, and left for dead like he did to his child. He should be sentenced as an adult and thrown in prison to rot.

i think i'd be waiting outside the "facility" in six months...with a can of mace and a baseball bat....i absolutely think that the sentence is disgusting and is that all the life of a child is worth....

That poor little mite -- she never stood a chance, with a father like him around.

i'm disgusted. normally i think children are children and should be charged as children when they commit horrendous crimes, but this guys age is up to the point where i think he knows better.

the article brought tears to my eyes just thinking about my little boys, and the thought of their father doing it to them makes me want to vomit. he doesn't regret it? what a fucking moron. i hope he rots the short time he's in jail.

The puking is a side effect of shaking. She was puking because she was dying and he did nothing to save her.

Anyone who can't control themselves and kills a baby, who cannot defend itself, should be locked away for life and have a cell mate named big Pee-wee who will sodomize them on a daily basis. But that's just my opinion.

That's just disgusting. I weep for that mother. I understand he's young but still, I'd feel a lot better if he'd accept responsibility. He obviously isn't right in the head and needs some help along with jail time.
