Turn on CNN or MSNBC, 6 year old child currently free floating in home made helium balloon that apparently came undone from the tethers that were holding it to the ground. Parents said no one was ever supposed to actually fly in it. I seriously cannot believe what I am watching right now. Sources say he has gone as high as 10,000 feet. I am so scared for this little boy.

I just hope the father gets some jail time where he can enjoy the affections of his cell-mate named Bubba.....

What makes me wanna puke is hearing a statement from their lawyer stating that they are happy to hand themselves into police, but to please not arrest them in front of the children as they don't want them upset. The lawyer tried to argue that arresting them in front of the children is child abuse....WTF??? And what they tried to pull isn't???? If they gave that much of a shit about their kids, they would NEVER have involved them in this scam in the first place.

I am SOOOO angry at these parents I can't even tell you. I would gladly wring their necks personally. I cannot understand how anyone with even one decent cell in their body would put their child in a position to have to lie to everyone on national television. Not once, but on multiple occassions. He threw up for godssake. And now he'll think he is responsible for getting his parents in trouble when he slipped up on CNN. It's just disgusting. Some people do not deserve kids.

"Heene and his wife are expected to face felony and misdemeanor charges of conspiracy, contributing to delinquency of a minor, attempting to influence a public servant, and filing a false report. The couple's children were unlikely to face charges because of their young age.

The most serious felony charge — attempting to influence a public official — could in theory see the Heenes jailed for any where between two to six years, law enforcement source said.

However Alderden said that due to the crowded nature of Colorado's prisons jail time was unlikely."

Apparently they were all in on it, including the children. Now if anyone says those kids weren't old enough to be "in on it", after watching them on the Wife Swap videos, I actually believe they absolutely could be, and that they knew what they did was wrong.

I've also heard rumours this morning that Child Services may be getting involved on allegations of the father's abusive behaviour towards the children (and that wouldn't surprise me, the guy was abusive on Wife Swap. If that's how he is for the cameras, what must he be like behind closed doors?)

He's a nutjob =| I also heard this morning that he's going to be charged with making a false police report... we can only hope.

My question is.... how did they get a small child like that to stay quiet for for 5 or 6 hours??

Maybe they drugged him????  To go to this extent, I wouldn't put that past them.

He's been puking all over the place. Something's causing that and for once, I don't think it's swine flu.

I just heard that too. What a dickhead, getting his kids involved in something like that!! But then, after watching those wife swap videos.......he an obnoxious pig anyway, and the kids were well on their way to emulating it.

I hope he gets whatever they can give him - causing international panic, search and rescue costs, stunts like that are deplorable. I could understand forgiveness if it were the child that pulled the stunt on his own, without his parents involvement. It's pretty obvious the dad set it up though...

Apparently the family has been on wife swap and some other programs. They wanted to extend their 15 minutes of fame......it makes me laugh though....kids just can't help but be honest love it.

I knew I recognized them, they were on twice, because they are THAT crazy!!! !...I have NO doubt that this was a hoax to get attention to their father's latest invention...  I'm sure somebody will be playing a rerun of the episodes soon enough but see if you can look it up.

jerks

ROFL! It took almost no time from when the media announced who they were and it going up on youtube. If you google Balloon Boy on Wife Swap part 1 of 5 (and 2 of 5, etc. as you go on) you can see the 100th episode which was their 2nd appearance. LOL!! I

Who else thinks the boy threw up this morning because his crazy ass parents probably gave him some type of drug (nyquil, benadryl, etc...) to shut him up so that he wouldn't incriminate them again and it probably made him sick. He looked soooo woozy and then just vomited all over his parents lap. Seems very suspect to me!

yeah...what you said

There have now been rumours it could have been a hoax: I found this online (and of course I don't believe everything online, but it certainly makes you think, LOL).

"Falcon has now fuelled speculation the affair was a hoax during an awkward interview on US network CNN.

In response to a question asked by interviewer Wolf Blitzer, the boy innocently admitted he had heard his parents calling his name while he was hiding in the attic.

Asked why he had not come out, Falcon hesitated and said: "You guys said that … we did this for a show."

Blitzer attempted to get the boy to explain his comments further, but Falcon's father Richard Heene refused to relay the question to his son and angrily denied the family had planned the incident.

At an earlier press conference Heene had bristled at suggestions the drama had been a publicity stunt.

"That's horrible ... after the crap we just went through, no, no, no," he said."

Thoughts anyone?

I watched this story unfold in absolute horror.

When it crashed I was choking back sobs.

Now they are saying the "real" basket is missing. It was attached to the bottom of the balloon and its missing now. Someone has reported seeing something fall from the balloon as it floated - but how high, where, nothing has been said yet.

its been hours, surely that little boy has had to pee or gotten hungry - if he were hiding I think he would have come out by now.

ok well he wasn't in the balloon when it landed, now I just hope he didn't fall out somewhere along the way.
