Twenty years ago on this day the Berlin Wall fell reuniting East and West Germans. As the iron curtain fell people celebrated the right to practice basic freedoms..to have a voice, to vote, and to work. The anniversary of the Berlin Wall's fall is a reminder to celebrate, cherish, and protect Freedom. The great civil rights movement leader Fannie Lou Hamer once said that, "No one is free until everybody's free." So with that thought in mind we must all continue to speak out for all those in this world without a voice so that one day we call all be free.

I remember watching it come down...granted I was too young to fully understand it. I can't believe that was 20 years ago, that makes me feel really old. I too, get a little choked up seeing the footage replayed today.

Everytime I see the footage I get choked up. I lived in Germany for awhile as a kid and brought back with me to the states a piece of the Berlin wall which I still have.
