How to get Miles to sleep through the night with Mayah screaming every few hours? The worst part is that she wakes him up, and then he's awake until just before she wakes up needing something again...I remember this being difficult the first time, but this is ridiculous! I haven't slept since we left the hospital!

My sons slept in their room, infants slept in mine and the the older kids slept through any crying.

Yay, that's at least the one thing you can count on, he will get used to it eventually. I'm sure when you're in the midst of it, it seems like forever though. lol I hope all is well otherwise too. :)

lol...thanks Laura...Miles seems to be getting used to the noises at night...he's been sleeping through more and more of it, and finally stayed in bed till 7:15 this morning (could be a personal record for Miles)...I'm hoping that means that I will finally get some sleep!!!

I was just reading the welcome page, and I have come up with some valuable advice! First, put some cereal in the bottle...if that doesn't work, try whiskey...if nothing else...pray to God, he'll fix it for you. ;P Just joking

Can you put one child at each end of the house? ie sleep in the living room with Mayah while Miles sleeps in his room (which is hopefully on another level?)

Thanks Krista! It's amazing to me how much she looks like Miles did when he was a baby...We took her to the pediatrician's today for a quick checkup, and she is doing well...

humidifier is a great idea...we will find him some kind of white noise machine...she is a loud baby and miles is a light sleeper anyway...his room is right next door to ours...so every time she cries...even for a couple of minutes...she wakes him up...

Is she sleeping in your room? Or are they sharing one? I know that was one of reasons we kept our babies in our room so long. The kids were in their room and the baby was in ours. It's kind of hard to give ideas without knowing sleeping arrangements.

If it's just because she's so loud and he's not sharing a room with her.... would closing his door most of the way after he's sleeping work? To drown out the noise a bit more?

Damn Mary, that sucks. Can you put something in Miles room to mask the sound of her crying? Maybe a humidifier which is handy this time of the year anyhow? Something with white noise. I hope you're getting some kind of help. Those first couple months were hell on me. Ethan was a preemie and I was feeding him ever 45 min to an hour. So I know what you mean by no sleep. I was sleeping for about a half hour at a time, maybe an hour. I wish I could give advice or help in any way. :( We're here if you need us.

No idea, hon -- I only have the one child right now. I just wanted to compliment you on the photo of Mayah -- she's absolutely gorgeous!

You know, I really don't remember what we did...I do remember though, that there were a few days (or a week or two) where it felt like we just traded rocking babies...nobody ever slept.

Good Luck! I know how exhausting it is.
