unfortunately, part of having a party is planning for extras. if you are that short on cash that these "extras" hurt your budget, maybe you should scale it down and have it some place else.
I don't know what age group this is but, as a parent, I would have not just simply dropped off a young child at that crazy place (I despise chuck e. cheese cause it is a bunch of unruly and misbehaved kids who obviously get their behavior from their parents) without hanging around for reinforcement either. sorry - I don't know you and I am NOT leaving my kid with you for that extended period of time in such a public place. so - there should be an expectation that there will be "extra" people there anyway.
it's a party! come one, come all. order extra food and extra things and move on. sounds too "controlled" to be much fun anyway. "took one of his 2 pizza slices"? really? how 'bout you can have as much pizza as you want? someone's gonna eat none and someone is gonna eat four.
this just sounds like a party on "lockdown". no such thing as "controlled chaos" at - of all places - chuck e. cheese.
