Lyndsey Fiddler, 26, was high on drugs when she put her newborn daughter, Maggie May Trammel, in the washing machine along with the dirty laundry and started a washing cycle, NewsOn6 reports.

An Oklahoma woman has been charged with felony child neglect after her 10-day-old baby was killed in a washing machine.

Lyndsey Fiddler, 26, was high on drugs when she put her newborn daughter, Maggie May Trammel, in the washing machine along with the dirty laundry and started a washing cycle, local station NewsOn6 reported.

The baby’s great aunt, Rhonda Coshatt, was also in the house at the time and realized something was wrong when she saw Fiddler passed out and unresponsive on a chair with the child nowhere to be found.

After hearing a clunking noise coming from the washer, she opened the lid and found the dead infant.

Fiddler, who is being held on $100,000 bail, tested positive for a variety of drugs, including methamphetamine, amphetamines, benzodiazepine and opiates.

Under questioning, she told police that she wrapped her daughter in a blanket and gave her a pacifier, but was unable to remember how the baby ended up in the washing machine and went through an entire washing cycle.

Fiddler’s dangerous drug habit spurred her relatives toward an unsuccessful attempt to have her parental rights stripped when she was four months pregnant.

This is not Fiddler's first run-in with the law, the Tulsa World reported. She had previously been convicted of larceny and assault and battery, and has received numerous traffic violations for speeding, driving without a license and failing to put her other kids in child safety seats.

Although Fiddler currently only faces child neglect charges, prosecutors are looking to build the strongest possible case against her.

"We anticipate there may be additional charges based on the information the state anticipates it will be receiving," Bartesville District Attorney Rick Esser told the Tulsa World.

oh my f**king god! Yes, Jackie, public stoning would be the only justice for me in this case. I feel the same way about Baby P's mother and her boyfriend. I would have no problems partisipating in that. Or we could drown her in a washing machine too, I would be happy with that.

Don't know why I read these articles, I must be a glutton for punishment but these articles about dead babies/children make me so sick and angry. Hopefully this mother get's put away for a very very long time.

Wonder what judge let her keep her parental rights when the family had evidence of her issues. Now because a judge didn't want to take a baby from its mom the poor baby is dead and the family who tried to protect this baby are grieving.

Such a heartbreaking story! That poor little baby. The mother should never have been allowed to bring her home from the hospital with her! So sad! I hope she is charged with more than just neglect!
On a side note, the mother is the cousin of one the ladies on one of my birth boards - she posted about it on FB yesterday. :(

child neglet!? that's all they are giving her? she pretty much murdered her child! that is horrible! that poor baby! she didn't even have a chance to live! it's too bad they don't allow torture in the US. To me, even that would be too good for this woman!

All these stories of neglectful parents killing their own children really makes me sick.

This makes me cry and make me ill. There had better be some murder charges added to that. Or maybe throw her in a washing machine. I can believe these people!!

Wow...this story is absolutley sick!! I agree that the gov't has no clue how to run things right...happy meal bans yet innocent children dying everyday due to the lack of the gov't taking time to look into this kind of stuff. I have zero respect for this woman and if I were to see her I'd spit on her! That infant didn't even have a chance at life!!! Ugh!!!!!!!

My mom is a correctional officer and where i live there was a mother and i think it was her boyfriend not sure tho! But any ways she lived in Illinois and had 8 children and had all of them taken away because she abused them her and her significant other! Well the stated ended up giving them back and she moved to Indiana her boy/girl twins were 3years old and one day the 3 year old son told her no and she beat the crap out of him and when her bf returned home from work he got mad at the child and slammed him against the wall and beat the crap out of him and that poor little boy laid in bed from Friday-Monday not eating puking Violently turning blue and couldn't move! Well the mother finally dropped the boy off at the hospital Monday morning and he died later that day of internal bleeding! My mom had to see pictures of that little boy and she said there was not one place where you could see his white skin he was purple.black and blue EVERYWHERE and his eyes were blood shot and he had puncture wounds in his neck! His mom made a deal and will be getting out of jail in like 5years and the guy got life! But i bet you money she will get those kids back and his twin sister was beat also!!!! This world has soo many problems the state of Illinois should get in trouble to or at least the person who gave those kids back!

So sad, and despite how I hate fascism I'm starting to see some merit to some merit to routine drug testing etc. of parents who have been convicted of crimes in the past. I really feel the state let this baby down. Why was the infant sent home with a drug addicted mother?
Poor little baby, hopefully her lungs filled with water quickly and she didn't suffer.
:( so sad.

I should have known better when I saw the title of the thread. This absolutely breaks my heart. I can't imagine...

My son thinks there's something wrong with me. He's asking me if I'm ok and trying to touch my eyes. I need to get up and go for a walk. I wish I hadn't read this.

She should have not been allowed to parent that baby. Did she not test pos. at the hospital after birth? Did the baby test pos.?
The laws of the land are not set up or designed to protect children.

I could make a really sick joke about tossing the baby out with the bath water but I don't think I will...

Instead, how sad for that poor infant and her family who actually cared for her. I'm surprised the mom is still alive after having taken all of those drugs. Most of those when taken together can stop the heart. :/
