This is beautifully put, and so true.

Children are a product of everything they experience, and as parents we are in control of that.

I especially liked the line "if children live with praise they learn to appreciate" as I see the results of this with my two little ones. When my two year old son tried (not very successfully, of course) to write his own name the other day, my 4 year old daughter (who has proudly mastered writing her name, some numbers etc,) told him how fantastic he was and that she could see what it said, then "good work, Rowan, you are such a clever boy!" She had enjoyed the praise we had given her for her writing efforts, so she recognised and appreciated the work her brother had put in to try it himself. These are the moments we do it all for!

I've read that poem before, it was actually posted on the wall at our play group.
It's a lovely PSA, and maybe will help some people see their children differently.
