This just happened over the weekend in the town I live in...well about 20 minutes from where I live. It is a huge controversy right now. Clearly the cop acted inappropriately but a lot of people in the community feel that the victim did nothing wrong, shouldn't be charged and the cop is guilty right off the bat. The victim did have a weapon and although he wasn't resisting,I don't feel he was FULLY cooperating, plus we don't see what happened before, or hear too much audio (besides sirens)....

What are your thoughts?

That's just sad. The people we are supposed to trust to keep us safe, are no better than the criminals (in some cases). Blech.

the thing is a lot of the cops in my town are pretty corrupt. Some would argue, but knowing enough criminal lawyers and people within the CJS that deal with our cops, there is a gang like mentality and I am really not surprised by this at all.

I am trying to look at it from a duel process point of view but you ladies are all right, the cop really did act like a king douche.

I saw part of the video on the news. The suspect was already getting down on the ground when the officer came around and kicked him in the head! Wtf?!

Excessive force.
They have other means to detain a suspect, kicking someone is the head can cause death. They have sicks and pepper spray etc. this cop sounds like a hot-rod who needs to be taken down a notch or two.
