My daughter was born with sliding knee caps and I have had several different oponions as to the solution but am confused as what to do or who to believe. Some Dr.'s tell me she needs knee replacements and others tell me she just needs a groove in the femar bone but when I agreed to surgery finally they wanted to stunt her growth. This ment 4 or 5 surgeries before they even would consider fixing knees. My problem is this....
When she was 4 she had heart surgery to repair an ASD and it was so scarey to see my 4yr old unconcious and I don't think all the stunting growth is necessary. The only other oponion I can get is still in the same hospital and I don't feel it would be an honest look at this case. If you have experienced this same problem I could sure use some help!

She has been through physical therapy several times and wears knee braces to keep them in place so she can walk without falling> I don't know how to get another oponion because they keep sending me to the same place just a different doctor. Our insurance won't cover another state and all dr.'s are tied into the children's hospital no matter who you see in our state! I just want an oponion based on exam not what others thought and am having a hard time finding one...

I had sliding knee caps and was able to do physical therapy to control them. There may be different levels of severity tho...BUT, I would at least ask for another opinion!
