There isn't a whole lot of information in the article, but I just thought I'd put it out there. Would YOU spend that much on a custody battle for a dog?

http://news.yahoo.com/dog-custody-battle...

To be perfectly honest we haven't even spent close to that on custody issues with kids (and that is shared between 3 different custody orders), so I do have to question these lawyers and their charges, LOL. It makes you wonder who the winners are in these things.

Really this is just stupid. If they want to treat the dog like a kid then split custody. Geez for 60K they could have flown the dog back and forth for visitations like 80 times!

I read this, two big babies. She got pissed that he broke up with her, and took the dog.

These are the lawyers that need to be disbarred, though, the ones that encourage these frivolities. For crying out loud, it's a puggle. Its not a purebred anything, it's a mix between a beagle and a pug. Yeah, they're cute, but seriously?

When I broke up with my bf and had a dog with him, I gave him the dog. Kept him from whining, and I had another one ready to come home with me. Yeah, my dogs are part of my family, but a custody battle? Seriously?

I can think of soooo many more ways or places to give or spend my money. Yeah, I don't think I will be trying to play "fetch" with Knuckles, any time soon!

No. I'd get a new dog. Or maybe not. These people have more money than brains.

I know, Jaime (look, I FINALLY figured out how to spell your name correctly, and I apologize for all of the times I've misspelled)

All I could think of was "well, if they're going to waste time and money arguing over that pup, I'll take him!"

Sorry but $60 000 is absurd. It most definitely would not be me, shelling this kind of money out for my dog. Yes, we love our pets, much like our kids (not quite but for some, yes) but I would never be so inclined to say they are worth my savings. A dog is a pet, they aren't forever. Sometimes, you have to let go and get another one (or not). ;)
