Well, I bought "Bambi" on e-bay before the holidays. I know issues with bootlegged copies on ebay, so I made the the photo was right, the description was right etc... The person I bought it from is a power seller as well, not one of those randoms with like 3-4 feedback.

Either way, I got it today. The plastic case is broken (could have happened in shipping) but the slip cover is in DUTCH.. seriously? I open it, the CDs and everything look right, but all the text on the slip cover has been translated (for the most part) except the 2-disc special edition thing isn't and a fwe other random words are still in Dutch, no insert or anything. The DVD works fine, it's in english, french and spanish.. SO.. I know it's fake... I also know I only paid 14$ for it including shipping. I write the seller, I called him out on it saying this is NOT what I purchased (I lied - said it was a gift that is useless to me because it's obviously fake). He writes back, says he's incredibly sorry and will refund the money, and to keep the dvd.

That's cool, at least I have "A" copy of Bambi, and can watch it, and it was free. The guy said he'd refund me and PLEASE don't leave negative feedback or report him. Well, I left neutral feedback, but I'm feeling a little awkward, thinking that other people are going to get screwed as well. Do I report him to ebay for selling a phony product? Do I let it go and count myself as lucky because I got my money back?

I'm sure he's done this before, don't you wish someone would have reported him before you so you wouldn't have had to deal with this issue?

Oh. I would. Especially if he was caught and it was obvious and they were like "why did you report this? accessory after the fact"

I dont think its a big deal hes burning dvds.... but trying to make a profit off of it is something else. But i would pro just consider myself lucky. Tell him have a nice day, and report him to ebay behind his back :)

Emma, she has already left neutral feedback. i think she was after opinions on whether she should report the illegal selling of DVDs or just settle for the fact that she got her money back.

I'm with Jodi. that sucks and that is not right.

Report him after you get your money back though.

I quit buying on ebay mostly. I buy custom made dog collars w/matching leashes and occasionally cheap jewelry.

Oh and books. Pretty hard to fake a book.

Everything else i get from Amazon.

Hi Caitlin. I'd report him. Yes, you got your money back and yes you have a copy but it isn't what he's describing. I HATE phonies!!!!!!!

Yep, report him to Ebay. They need to know. What he is doing is illegal, and sometimes the only way they get caught trading illegal DVDs is for someone to make a report. Isn't there a fraud squad or something that investigates these things too?
