England has decided that you can now work as long as you wish and no employer can sack you because of your age. Where does that leave our youngters that are looking for work? If the oldies don't retire where are the jobs going to come from for the young adults? I am a mother of two teenage boys who have struggled to get jobs and this makes me so cross. This country has gone mad. What are your rules?

I bet this has something to do with the baby boomers retiring.

If you google baby boomer retirement crisis you'll get a lot more pages.

I don't know if it will make a huge amount of difference but I don't see a huge issue with it. I'm sure there will be more then enough of the boomers who do retire to open up the market to the next generations.

In Canada, labour laws do not specify a retirement age for employees. However, some laws or government policies governing specific occupations set an age limit for persons employed in those occupations.

Forcing an employee to retire by reason of age is considered to be a human rights issue and is regulated by human rights legislation.

I live in Australia. Allegedly my generation won't get a pension even though we pay tax. Super annuation is rising to 13% and the government is going dollar for dollar on non compulsory super contributions. I think this is crap and unfair, my partner pays as much in tax as 2 dole bludgers get a week.

Good for england, ever tried living on a pension?? When the pension will actually cover the bills, and not leave a person without food, then they can bring back a retirement age.

I agree the pension should be upped, but the government here is trying to get pension age raised to 75. At this rate we will all be working until we are 80 as we cant afford to retire and in the mean time the young adults will all be on the dole as there are no jobs for them. There are more young adults than elderly that want to work so surely this is going to cost more in the long run.

Rules? Maybe if the pension like was enough to live on comfortably they wouldn't have to still work.
