facing to much jail time?

Sholom rabushkin, a man recently found guilty on over 140 counts of fraud stemming from an immigration raid at his meatpacking plant in postville, ia., could be facing about 43 years in jail for him crimes. he is 51 years old, if he got that much time this would essentially be a life sentence for fraud. others convicted of fraud have gotten year long sentences, and those convicted of rape, 2nd degree murder, robbery and other violent crimes get sentenced to less time.
what do you think, is he facing too much time? is it a good warning for anybody wanting to hire illegal immigrants? here's an article with a little more info:

I have to agree with Holly,

"IMO his jail time reflecs his crime (he got less than a year for each count...). I think the other crimes should have harsher and longer jail times..."

While others have gotten year long sentences for fraud, if his sentence was less than a year for each count then he should be counting his blessings. (Granted he probably won't live to that age and if he does then he should definitely be counting his blessings.) Though I think he should've gotten more for all the craptastic stuff he pulled!

I agree with Emma. IMO his jail time reflecs his crime (he got less than a year for each count...). I think the other crimes should have harsher and longer jail times...

problem with that one is that the plant had so many illegals there's nobody to work there anymore!! it was the largest kosher meatpacking plant in the united states. plus it had alot of other problems, like violating kosher policies, federal policies, and issues from not paying workers their regular or overtime wages. this guy was a real shithole. i still can't decide. i mean, he shouldn't get more than a murderer, but he completely fucked with these peoples lives. he essentially ruined the town of postville, it seriously has hardly any people there anymore, he obviously was a scuzz bag from his practices of not paying people their wages, and the way he treated animals, he makes me want to puke. i hope he rots.

That is excessive for hiring illegals. It should most definitely pinch the pocket something like 50% of his profits for the next ## years with him paying for a government bookkeeper to track of his bills and profits. Would be appropriate.
