Goodbye Oprah :(

Anyone else sadly watching these last few episodes of Oprah?
I remember my mom watching Oprah as far back as I can remember, and when she died I was 15, I didn't think of Oprah again until I was pregnant with my son and for some reason n trying to feel more 'mom like' I decided to start watching a 'mom show'- Oprah!
It was so cool, I felt like another connection to my mom, we both watched Oprah, just years apart.
I quickly became a dedicated viewer and then only a year or two into watching she announced she was going to be done :(
So I'm sad, it's like I just started watching and now it's over. But I'm enjoying the last few episodes anyways!
Anyone else sad to see Oprah go?

As a Baltimore girl, I feel like Oprah's been around, in the background of my life, forever. I have vague memories of my mom watching her in the late 70's on a local talk show called People are Talking. While I'm not an avid fan, I do periodically watch snatches of her show on the odd afternoon I have nothing better to do. It's not that her ending her show will create some huge hole in my day, it's more that she's just always been there, somewhere, on my TV doing some type of show.

As for her own - not really my thing, so I doubt I'll ever even know what the channel number is.

I love Oprah,I watch her whenever I can and I'm going to miss her show. This is one sad woman.

I've never watched Oprah. Then she went and took over Discovery Health, my favorite channel, to put Dr. Phil and Dr. Drew and her stuff on.

Yeah, she has done a lot for a lot of people, but I won't miss her.

Yeah, I get that "better than you" feeling from her too, Gorgo. Mind if I call you that? It's easier. Anyway, Oprah's entertaining enough that I watch her if I'm bored in the four o'clock hour...which is not often as that's when Eliza tends to wake up from her nap.

i'm not sure how i feel about oprah. sometimes i love her sometimes i loathe her. she seems so uppity sometimes, like she's better than everyone else, and that turns me off. then she'll do a show and help some people out tremedously, and totally redeem herself. overall, i'm not a loyal viewer, but i do watch maybe twice a week. i will be sad when it's over, she's a legend.

I can understand how it holds nostalgia for you - and I'm so sorry about your mom :( - but I'm not sorry to see her go at all. I hope her friend Dr. Phil follows her. Both have done parents a disservice by spreading myths and lies.

I love Ophra, I have been watching her almost her full 25 years, thanks to my own mother, and grandmother. I dont know what I am going to do at 4 pm every weekday now, maybe dinner will be made sooner. :0( Im not really a fan of her OWN network, shame.

I'm not ashamed to say I like Oprah lol. I just saw the commercials for the final three episodes last night actually. I'll be sad when the show finishes, but I'm sure she won't be off our screens for long.
