So we all know we are supposed to leave cookies and milk for Santa. But Joshua decided that maybe he would like chocolate milk and french fries.

Anyone else leave anything unconventional or do you stick with the traditional goodies?

They are so great! I still make the peanut butter cups every year! I also try and make her caramels recipe every year too, but it's so much work. Too bad they're delicious!

My moms a candy maker, so sometimes she'd leave some of my dad's favorite candies... Chocolate covered cherries, turtles, or peanut butter cups.

LMFAO! There is a good Christmas story Jodi. If you can't afford a big Christmas just tell 'em Santa's in AA and hopefully he will be back next year.

"nikki are you perhaps austrailian, bahahahahahaha!!!"

I told you he'd be plastered before he got to you guys.....after all, he comes here first. So if your kids don't get what they want, just tell the kids that it is because all those Aussies got Santa drunk and he must have been confused.......:P

Then, one day, when they are all fucked up because we lied to them about Santa, they'll spend lots of money to come out on a tourist visa to Australia (injecting our economy) to tell us how they feel about us screwing up their Christmases.

Jenn, we're doing the reindeer food too. We have oaks with glitter to sprinkle on the back lawn (Jon won't let me do it on the front lawn). Allison will enjoy it!

I hate cookies and milk, and welll.......you know, it has to be gone the next morning, and I don't want to bake cookies just to toss them,so Santa gets some cheese & fruit to munch on while he arranges the presents and a glass of Mascato. I never thought to feed the reindeer :P
We didn't leave anything for Santa when I was a kid, I didn't know about that tradition until two years ago, when J was 4!

My husband always left smoked oysters and beer for santa as a kid...I think he'd prefer to pass this tradition on to our kids...but Mrs. Claus is NOT a fan of smoked oysters...;-)

Katherine...with all the coming in and out of the cold night air and heated house as he delivers presents...it will protect him from catching cold!

We do the traditional chocolate chip cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. Madeline did come home from school with a bag of oats and glitter to sprinkle on the lawn so we'll be doing that as well. Reading this thread though, I'm really considering swaping the milk for a beer or cocktail. Santa does need to keep warm on such a cold night! ;-P

My kids leave Santa leftovers.

" 'cause mom, he gets so many treats he needs good food too." hahaha

Of course the obligatory carrots for the reindeer too. Which reminds me I need to get more so they don't get pissy with me friday night. =/

I think i wanna leave Santa a nice dinner and an alcoholic beverage ;) sounds good to me! But seriously we set out cookies and milk and we make reindeer food out of oats and glitter and sprinkle it on the lawn!

I haven't even thought to ask Eliza what she'd like to leave. I've been doing a batch of home-made marshmallows for all the holiday gatherings we've gone to. So we'll probably leave some of those out for the big guy. Eliza probably won't be around to help me bake on Christmas Eve anyway. Her out-of-state grandparents are home, and they kind of take over all the grandkids when they are here. (I'll have her back after a family Christmas party on Christmas Eve, so I WILL have her Christmas morning...though they'd take her on that day too if they thought they could get away with it!)

We are making chocolate chip cookies and plan to also leave out some milk and some carrots for the reindeer as well, pretty traditional. Chocolate milk and french fries sounds great! :)

We'll be leaving gingersnaps (because that's what I'm making again tomorrow and will have available) and milk. Outside we're sprinkling our reindeer dust - it's a mix of glitter and oats - oats for them to eat and the glitter to catch their eye as they fly over the house. Phillip made it at school and I thought it was a really cute idea. :)

We leave homemade shortbread and coffee. lol
The big guy needs something to keep him going all night long.
We also leave Mrs. Claus some cookies and of course carrots for the reindeer.
I have a friend who leaves Salad and water, she told her kids santa is on a diet due to high blood pressure.

i dont do santa, but if i did i would leave carob and peanut cookies, delicious chai tea with spices (cinnamon and nutmeg maybe?) and some carrots for the reindeer

[deleted account]

I wish we could make peanut butter cookies....mmmmm....damn allergies! Anyhow, Santa's favorite are oatmeal chocolate chip so that's what we're baking!

Beer for Santa. You all know, don't you, that by the time Santa has finished with Australia, he is so pissed, he can barely get to your house :)

Also carrots and a bowl of water outside for the reindeer :)
