My hubby has tried to organise a BBQ at a friends place and we have just been asked to find a baby sitter and go to the pub. I'm not happy i hate pubs and i just want to head o a beach any beach now but the closest beach is 4ish hours away.

We are going out with my fiance's sister and brother in law. His mom is watching the kids, and their son so no worries about a sitter tom night! :) going to dinner with a few other friends, than maybe hit up a few partys...who knows! I am wanting to drink but with my sinus headaches, I dn't know if I'll be able to pull that one off! :)

Just the three of us tonight, once Isobel is in bed I will have a couple of champers because hubby is not drinking, I have had one night of drinking in 2 years, so no doubt I will fall asleep after half a glass!

My mom fixes Hoppin Jon soup every year for New Years day. I can't stand that stuff but I usually pick at a bowl of it for traditions sake...blah!

We never make a big deal out of New Year's. We usually just hang out at home and nosh on hors d'oeuvres all night instead of having a proper meal. Last year we actually did have people over, and while it was fun, I later found out that two of my guests drove home while drunk. It REALLY pissed me off. So I think it's just less hassle and more pleasant to have it just the two of us.

We have invites to a couple of parties, but I have not looked into a sitter, so I'm not sure. They said "Kid Friendly" but I don't feel like trying to manage and over-tired 6 year old at someone's house until midnight while every one else is getting their buzz on :P Besides, I was sick before Christmas, then I felt better, but I took my Little to the Children's Museum with a friend today and now I feel like crap again :(
I did buy a bottle of Champaine so I will be quite happy with a quiet evening at home with my hubs and son watching the ball drop....we'll see.

Does anyone else eat black eyed peas and cabbage for New Years day, or is that a southern thing? I hate them both, but I can't seem to get away from them....they are supposed to bring Change and Wealth for the upcoming year.

I didn't even bother to try to get a babysitter so we'll be staying at home for a quiet night in. After Jacob is asleep, we'll probably rent a movie and watch the ball drop at midnight. This is nothing like my pre-baby New Year's celebrations, that's for sure!

I'll be at home... friends are staying because their house is flooded. Probably have a street party... half of Emerald is parked in our street and staying with friends.

I will definately be drinking...I usually regret it the next morning though! lol

Do you ladies drink for New Year's? My sister & I may share a bottle of wine. My hubby & brother are non-drinkers. My sister is limited in her liquid intake, but she can at least share a glass with me.

We are kid free and having a party at our house, not too many people, probably about 12 plus us.
I made phyllo wrapped appetizers, got a pork roast in the oven to make pulled pork sandwiches and Steve is making mini single serve blueberry cheesecakes.
We have a very musical circle of friends, one of the rooms in our house is a jam room, complete with drum kit, sound boards, microphones, amps and guitars etc. so it will be a loud and fun night, I"m gonna dance my ass off!!
:)

Well we don't have any plans as of yet. I didn't even attempt to get a sitter and just figured we'd stay at home. My mom called today and asked if the kids could spend the night with her and my dad so we are now child free that night. We've been invited to a few parties so we'll just see where the night takes us. It's been so long since we did that, I'm not sure how to take it! lol

I plan to make a nice big meal for my boys. We are going to hang and watch movies and play games. I plan to enjoy some wine as well. Happy New Year's everyone! :)

Stay home, eat, sleep. I have a feeling I might be knocked up, so hopefully we get a positive test tomorrow. Makes for a quiet sort of evening. No bubbly for me.

I guess we might try and not suck at Mario on the old Wii (people who didn't grow up with video games should probably never aspire to be good at them) or watch some movies.

We stay home. Make a lot of appetizers, play board games. My sister & brother come over too. Set off the sparklers & noisemakers. The nephews will sleep over and we'll probably set up the tent for them. I rarely ever make it up to midnight, but hubby & brother do.
