I thought this would be a fun spinoff topic from the Duggar thread. What was your worst hairstyle ever? Your best hairstyle ever? And what do you do with your hair now?

My worst hair style is probably the very short bob all shaved up the back when i was 13. Not sure about my best...hm i guess when my hair was really long (almost to my waist) and layered and natural red. Right now it's long and dyed a dark copper/auburn colour to get rid of the blonde streaks. It's only a semi colour but i think i might go permanent next time, i like it darker atm.

Best hairstyle was my short pixie cut it was about an inch short I also really like my short at the back long at the front style.

My hairstyles have all been the worst hair ever. Grade 1 mullet "it's not a mullet it's a lioness"thanks mum. Then tiger stripes the year after school and bleached blonde and short and I still have a mulletish style haircut with short layers at the top. Oh never let people who say they know how to do foils do your hair. Just pay the 200 bucks and get it done by a real hairdresser.

Worst: Bangs cut WAY to short, up to the middle of my forehead. Ugh!

Best: Chin length and stacked where it was shorter in the back. Not like Kate Gosselin style, longer and more flowy lol. Plus it was auburn. LOVED it :)

Now I where it my natural color (dark blond) with a few highlights. Its to my shoulder blades layered and angled around my face with long side bangs. I straighten it if I wear it down, but most of the time its scrunched and in a ponytail with my bangs loose and straightened. ;)

18 years old, spikey and red. Lol.

Best hairstyle- now. I don't do anything with it. Got some layers, that's it.

Perhaps they will come back when all of us who had or saw them in the 80's are gone and the horror has been forgotten. My hubby even had a perm in the 80's. I've never seen a photo but the image in my head is priceless!

Do you think perms will ever come back? We all have such horror stories about them. Would you ever get one again? Or do you think those silly little girls in their jeggings will start sporting the perm hair?

My sister once got a perm when she was in the 4th grade. You know how you're not supposed to wash your hair for a day or two after the perm? Well, the morning after she got it, it was still really tight since she couldn't wash it and she put on one of those winter hats on that has the pom on top and when she got to school and took the hat off, her hair had molded to shape of the hat. She looked like a character from the Coneheads. I still give her shit about that.

Worst was when I was in about grade 6 and I had short hair that my mom insisted on perming. I'm so traumatized by that I now allow my 3 year old to decide her own hairstyle, lol. It was the worst white girl fro you've ever seen. I think it actually may have made me depressed and it certainly made me shier and more withdrawn. I felt like the world's biggest dork and received the comments to prove it.

The best was probably in my 20's. I had soft blonde past my shoulders hair, in a variety of cut styles. Looking back, I can see it looked really nice most of the time.

Now, I've stopped highlighting it because I don't want it to get all frizzy, but the grey is starting to come in, so I have to take some action with the dye bottle. It's still just below the shoulders. I have a bit of a bad habit of never being able to fit in time to visit the hairdresser.

I don't have one worst haircut. I'd say I had a bad decade of haircuts in the 80's. Mullet, bad bangs, poof. Yeah...not good.

The best hair I had was about 4 years ago. It was long and layered and lovely, but then my stylist moved and I went to a new one who butchered it. I'm still trying to recover from that. Right now, my hair is a little past my shoulders and it's naturally curly. So, most days I just put some mousse in it and call it a day. I often sport a ponytail, too...

Worst: In high school I had the worst perm ever. Not only was my hair too thin and limp to carry it, but my Mum thought it'd be a great idea to perm my fringe. I looked like a damned poodle!
2nd worst: after bleaching my hair ash blonde every 2 weeks, I decided to go back to my roots for a while and booked in at my usual salon to avoid any disasters. HA! Black, blacker than the darkest night it was. Abso-bloody-lutely awful!
Best: wedding day. Just below shoulder, pale auburn with choppy layers in it
Now: halfway down my back and dark purple with vivid purple slices. Needs a damned good cut and usually ends up in a bun or a ponytail. Love to curl it but it lasts for 2 seconds. Thanking my BF for insisting on it being curly for her wedding last year.

My hair is pretty bad at the moment, but I honestly don't care. It's very similar to Pam's from The Office when she was dating Roy, except light brown not red.

Most days it's in a ponytail. If I need to look nice I'll spend a few extra minutes with the diffuser to help tame the curls so they are less frizzy. I rarely flat iron it anymore.

I think that deep chestnut brown colour is the best looking hair you can have.

Not for me, it's not.

I tried it once. It made me look inexpertly embalmed.

LOL Brittany! I used the sun streaking in high school and my hair turned orange too. I have an olive complexion and with the orange hair it made my face look green. I begged my dad to get me a box of hair dye so I could go back to my natural color and he said "no deal with it until it". He was against me using the spray in the first place and said it would teach me a lesson! My hair was half way down my back so I got it cut shoulder length so it wouldn't look so bad as it grew out.

Worst - grade 8, my mom convinced me that I needed very deep bangs and a perm. Picture long hair (shoulder blades) on the back half of my head, and short curly hair from the ears forward. So horrible! And then throughout highschool I tried to grow out my bangs and had wings (slightly wavy hair) that flung themselves off my temples in a way very similar to a muskox. See http://www.firebirds.org/menu10/mn10_p45..., except picture that with glasses.

My best hair was just a few years ago, I got a shoulder length cut with some layers, but nothing flashy. It looked casual or professional, and I really liked it. Too bad that hair salon closed.

I recently tried to replicate it but it was HORRIBLE and I cut it all off in a rage.

Actually, THAT may have been my worst look, but I just slicked it back for a few weeks until recently it was long enough to go again for another haircut, and I'm pretty happy with this one.

I don't dye my hair. I got blonde highlights once, but they just served to show how big and pink my face is, and I dyed it red once just for fun, but I'm pretty happy with the colour. It used to be a yucky not-really-blond-not-really-brown, but it's getting darker brown the older I get. I think that deep chestnut brown colour is the best looking hair you can have. Hopefully I darken to there before I go grey!

Oh man....HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I went through this whole goth phase in high school and I was living with my Daddy. He would let me dye the ends of my hair with Kool-Aid every morning.

When I was about 11 or 12, before my parents split up, my Mama got this idea to spray my hair with that sun streak spray. My hair was orange for the whole summer.

Most recently I got a hair cut called an inverted bob. My hair was past the middle of my back when I had it cut. I then dyed it black (BAD IDEA). When that faded I wanted to get back to my original color so I dyed it a Auburn color...it turned my hair purple. I was working at the time so I had to dye it black.....again.

Now my hair is long again, the black is gone for the most part. I did lighten it to help get back to my original color faster. I usually flat iron my hair every morning because, I have this out of control Irish Strawberry Blonde hair.

I've had a couple awesomely-bad hair cuts!...oh and a rat tail (I was a kid and I'm not sure why I thought it was a good idea). My first bad hair experience was when my mom thought I would look cute with a perm, I looked like I had a giant pubic hair ball on top of my head...not cool. Next was in grade 12 when I thought it would be fun to cut it short and spike it...ya, I looked like a 12-year-old boy! Right now my hair is past my shoulders and I'm liking it a lot better than I thought I would. I usually just wash, towel dry and brush it out, but on rare occasion I will blow dry and straighten to give it a bit more life. I don't dye my hair because it won't hold colour longer than a few days.

2 worst- 1: Telling my hair dresser that I trusted her and she gave me a pixie\mullet. 2: Dying my hair black. Best-The way I have it now. A cute little bob shorter in the back and longer on the side with face framing layers!

i've never had a bad hairstyle, lmao. no, there was one where my hair was pretty short, and it made me look really old and frumpy.
my best? not sure, i like my hair now and it's been the same way for the last decade, lol. i would like it to be longer, but everytime i try to grow it out it has that inbetween thing where is looks like absolute shit for a long time.
to change my hair i usually go between auburn and brown with blonde highlights.

Yep! Now I've dyed it a few times, it's staying in a lot better. The first few times it literally faded after the first wash.

Yeah. Red's funny that way. If you DON'T like how it turned out, it takes forever to fade. If you LOVE how it turned out, it fades faster than you can blink.

My worst was probably when my friend tried to bleach my hair for me, she missed out loads of bits so some of my hair was still my natural colour! Also the bits she did first were almost white and the rest of it was a really manky yellow.....not a good look!

My best was when I had my hair quite short with lots of layers through it......kinda messy and funky but could also be straightened and looked nice and sleek.

My hair at the moment is quite long as I haven't had it cut in over a year! I've dyed it red, which looks nice but takes a lot of upkeep!

the worst for me was the perm! first off my hair is too limp and thin to hold one. My best is what i have now. my hair is short and it frames my face, Ive only gotten one bad compliment out of like 50 so yea.

Worst: When I got it cut in high school. I lived in a small town and couldn't find anyone willing to cut it boy short. Really. So it was slightly too long and when you have poofy, curly hair that does not work.

Best: A few years back I was maintaining a dark brown colour and cut myself some blunt bangs. It looked awesome. But I always had to straighten the bangs and preferred to straighten the rest as well so I found I couldn't keep it up after Freja was born.

Now I am back to blonde and rat's nesty. I just throw it in a pony tail. Once this baby is out and I get into the swing of things, I am sooo finding a new style. I pretty much hate it right now.

All right, I'll start.

My worst hairstyle would have been in Grade 4. It was a full-grown mullet. Short on the sides and front, and long in the back. It was eerily reminiscent of Michelle Duggar's, but not quite as poofy.

My best hair was on my wedding day. I'd been growing it out, and it was down to the middle of my back. Long, red, in big, bouncy waves...it was magazine-cover hair. I'd love to go back to that someday.

Right now? My hair's a bit past my shoulders and layered. I have bangs that I gave myself in an ill-advised moment of frustration. If I'm ambitious, or can afford a blowout, I wear it straight and shiny. But my hair takes a LONG time (45 minutes) to blow-dry, so more often than not, it's a ponytail or quick bun.
