I can use both hands equally. when i was in year five i was made to stay back and write lines my teacher watched me write the first half of the sentence with my left hand and the seccond half with my right hand. She found it so facinating that she called the principle and a number of other teachers to come see the circus act.

When I was 6 months old, when ever my mom would hand me something, I would reach for it with my left hand. She would put it in my right hand and I would put it in my left. I'm a proud member of the best minority in the world. :) Gone are the days when people weren't allowed to use their left hands in school. My leftiness might also explain why my husband and I don't see eye to eye a lot. Our thought processes are different. He thinks with the other half of his brain. (Plus the fact that he's male.) Lefties of the world unite!!!!! We can be exceptional together. :)

Not a lefty - no one in the family is a lefty - we thought for a while my younger son might be, but after a couple of corrections - he accepted using his right hand. I do mean a couple because I would NOT have stood for more than that.

I like watching leftys write!

Kelly, they tried to do that to me too!! I remember actually being yelled at for not "writing properly".

Hey Tara! I can do that too (I'm also left handed)! I've not met anyone else who can :P

If I try to write with my right hand, I can only write backwards....somewhat frustrating in early school years when they were trying to "change my hands"

One of my 6 children is left handed and none of her immediate relatives are. She is incredibly bright and a really quick lateral thinker.. I love how she can write whole paragraphs from right to left, including the formation of all the letters so that when you hold it up to the mirror you can read it perfectly. She can also write in the normal way.
Cool post.
