I had to ask , I got nagged the hell out of to go to a hens night on the weekend of someone I dont even know, I declined obviously because I breast feed and wasn't going to bring my daughter there, to see the pictures of one of the women with her baby (a little over 1 yrs old I think from memory) just watching the stripper get down to nothing and do a show with the girls...I know the kid doesnt understand it at this age, but I wouldnt even let my 10 month old watch that, just doesn't seem appropriate. My husband and I were both disgusted at the pictures , but what are your thoughts?

You can take a baby into a strip club?!?! WTF?!?! First of all, I'm really not a big fan of girls nights out, I much prefer doing things with Brian as well. Secondly, if I were to go out for a girls night, it wouldn't be to a strip club. Thirdly, I would never bring my kids. IF I'm going out for a night out, it's me time and that means NO kids.

OK - I think I just realized that you guys are talking about a bachelorette party. Or no? I've never heard the term hen night, but I have heard my Dad say a hen party when a bunch of girls get together, so I was assuming it was just a girls night out. Obviously if one of my friends was having a bachelorette party I'd go without Brian LOL! And Jodi, I think there's a difference between seeing a naked body, and seeing a sexualized naked body. It's not like the guy would just be strutting around in the buff, they are gyrating and swinging their junk around, and some of the women act VERY inappropriately. There's another difference between male and female strippers. When women go out to see male strippers, they go all ape shit (which I don't get - it's an ugly ass penis on a very likely gay man), and grope the guys and stuff, but if a man behaved like that watching female strippers, they'd have their ass booted out of the club in a heartbeat.

Male strippers are hilarious and yes the reason I wouldnt take them is because I would want to baby free to have fun with my friends.....maybe get an oily lapdance haha.

True enough - I agree that a baby isn't going to be damaged. For me, I'd choose to stay home. Now, if I was there and saw someone bring a baby, I might find it odd, but I certainly wouldn't think they were a bad parent.

But Jenn, I still don't think a 1 year old is going to be permanently damaged by being in the room while a male stripper was there......

If I had the choice between staying home because I had to breastfeed, or taking my baby so I could go and still breastfeed, I'd take the baby.

Neither would I Becky. I'd rather make a scene with my friends than be worrying about a baby. It would not be as much fun.

I know what you mean Becky. If given the choice, you wouldn't simply because it is your time, but you don't have issue with it on the kid's behalf.

I don't think it would harm the kid, I just wouldn't take mine with me because that would be a night out for me! I'd rather be having fun with my friends than taking care of my kids. Hmm, that sounds bad. Hopefully you all know what I mean! ;)

Male strippers are so comedic anyway. It's not like some serious thing.

And any kid under 3 isn't going to remember it anyway.

OMG, my 6 year old still sees daddy naked.....TOTALLY damaged for life :P

Sure, why not? I was flashed when I was 10 and the thing was so ugly it kept me from wanting to see one again for a LONG time.

I just don't think its THAT big a deal. But I'm not much of a fan of prudish sexual mores. I'm not much for strippers or nudity or anything myself, but I don't think it harms kids AT ALL!

Honestly, if it is a hens night in someone's HOME (as opposed to strip club), I don't see the issue. It is hardly going to scar a child for life. The kid won't even remember much about it the next day. I don't understand what the big deal is.

You know... just thinking it over... it could be educational for the wee one.

For a newborn baby still breastfeeding? In that case I totally fail to see any problem with it if it's in a person's home. I wouldn't take any kid places where there was lots of smoking or rowdy behaviour, but otherwise, if they're insisting you go, and understand that includes baby, then it's fine.

I'm really perplexed by all the concern over a little baby seeing a male stripper? It's not going to remember or be able to put it in ANY context at all! It's a naked man and a bunch of giggling women. Not a big deal.

yeah that Jenn...and to hold my drink/s

I agree it is funny...but I wonder why? When blokes go to the strippers they don't laugh, wonder why us girls do? probably because we don't take it seriously

yeah i think that is kind of wrong if she knew. but apparently you're allowed to take kids under 3 into the adult shop with porn and stripper shoes and massive lube dispensers and dildos for sale without any legal ramifications. i know this because a girl from blackwater asked me to babysit her son who just turned 3 so she could go have a look and they kicked her out because he was over 3 but they said kids under 3 are fine.

she knew there was going to be stripper cause it was an open thing and she was admin of the facebook group and they definately kew. Shes not my friend shes just my friends best friend. She breast feeds thats why she took bub and why they told me to come and bring bub. I just was surprised to see people commenting on those photos and saying those are for the baby's 21st. But perhaps Im looking too much into things. I have seen strippers before when I was younger but it was a female one and I was 16 and my brother was 14 and my parents most definately didnt know about it

my thought are get a babysitter! i couldn't have fun if i had to take my kids that's just the kind of person i am and no i don't think strippers are appropriate at any age before 18. but like loureen said, she might have thought it was going to be just a party with no strippers i didn't have strippers at my hens night either did any of my friends when they got married.

Free hands for what? To touch some skeezy stripper? BARF Male strippers gross me out. I've gone to see them before and it's just not my thing - at all.

Oh wow. We had babies at my sister's hen night. My sister was feeding a 2 month old at the time. And there was a three month old and a four month old. But we kept it pretty tame. There were certainly no strippers. I don't think I'd go to that kind of a party either way.

[deleted account]

I wouldn't go... even w/out a baby. I would love a girls night out one of these years, but no one I hang out w/ would go for that kind of night out. ;)

[deleted account]

Unless it's in a smoky place with a bunch of drunks, I don't think it harms a baby in the least, but I would no more bring a baby to a strip show than I would bring a guy dressed in speedos and a bowtie to a kid's birthday party.

It's just strange and incongruous.

I might go to a hen's night to support a friend, but I'd leave my baby at home, or I'd leave when the stripper arrived.

Was it at someone's house, or at a strip club? Because here, you wouldn't be allowed to bring a baby into a bar or strip club anyway! Anyway, unless my child was a newborn, (in which case, I'd only go if I was really close to the person it was for), I wouldn't bring him or her. Not so much because I'm worried about exposing an infant to that stuff, but isn't the point of nights like that to get away from your children and have some adult fun for the evening?

Editted to add, none of my friends would be into getting strippers anyway, so it really wouldn't be an issue for me!
