So I was just informed just the other day that one of the hottest gifts is the Zhu Zhu pets (hamsters that are battery operated). Apparently they are back ordered up the wazoo. Surprise Surprise this is the gift my girls all want for christmas and plan on asking Santa for.

Anyone else heard of these weird little hot rodents??

Fur Real Pets- have tons of them, kitten, bunny, panda, dog, parrot (that ones cute), the pony, and 2 of the dogs that do tricks. Very cute and well played with!!

It must be a girl thing because one of the hottest gifts for boys seems to be Go Go Crazy bones. Not that my 10 year old wants them(he's to old for toys he says) but my 4 year old can't get enough of them.

As for the Fur Real Pets. My 4 year old has the monkey and he thinks its cool how it talks, and eats its banana. Not sure if I would pay $200 for one of those as we only paid $70 when the monkey first came out.

My daughter loves that biscuit dog toy..when we go to the toy store she always seeks it out, i think it would be cheaper and a better option than the real dog she would like..but she really wants a ride on triceratops..it makes noises, eats and moves it head..but i couldn't justify even paying the sale price of 200 for it. I haven't seen or heard of Zhu Zhu pets yet..maybe the fad will reach Australia a little later... My daughter saw Santa on the weekend and asked him for a new pencil case...going to be a cheap Chrissy if that's all she wants :)

I havent heard of them, I will have to look into it. My youngest Daughter has been wanting the real fur pet "Buscuit" I just can't justify $200 on a toy dog that she wont be playing with in Jan....has anyone else had one of these? are they worth it?

Hopefully these hamster things are cute enough to compensate for Buscuit lol

Well, there you go, I just saw these on TV this morning for the first time.....they are calling them a Go-Go Pet here.......but I must say, they look like they'll be broken by the 26th.....

My SIL stood in line for this toy for 5 hours this morning for my 3 yr old. I had no clue what it even was until I googled it as well. She really wanted to get it for him. I guess it is normally priced at $10, but are selling for ridiculous amounts online. I honestly don't think this is going to be a favorite toy. I personally would not have purchased it myself.

Yes I saw them on one of the morning shows. I thought they were cute, and now I want a whole system of these things with tunnels all over the house! I had a real hampster and rats before...they smell...these would be so much more fun!

Quoting Jaime:

Traci- How do you know what sales will be on already for Black Friday??? Our big shopping trip will be Black Friday in Buffalo, so excited and a bit scared.

BFads.net   All the sales, all the ad scans...you can see what each store is gonna have and plan ahead of time :)

You can sign up for their emails and they'll email you every time another store posts their ad.  :)

or google Black Friday ads.  There are lots of sites that have the scoop.

Nick wants a new power-wheel, he has a 'little kid' one that goes slower, he wants to be like the 'big' kids. So he will get that. Ben is just 5 months so will be 6 1/2 so he will get little stuff.......and we may get them DVD players for the car....Nicks broke long ago, and we never replaced it.

My nephew want's a pet hamster and this sounds like it would be right up his alley. Better wait until after Christmas though I suppose. Although now I do wonder if he came home from school asking for one if it was because of these Zhu Zhu pets. I'm gonna have to look into this further....

One of the items on CBS news tonight was "the hottest toy this X-mas" about this zhu zhu thing.

I saw them on ebay and some of the prices are outrageous!! Back to the tickle me elmo, I remember them holding an auction on our local radio station and he went for hundreds of dollars. CRAZY!!!

I DON'T do the standing in long lines, getting up at the crack of dawn, fighting people for ANY toys...I start shopping in October and many of the things I buy I purchase online.

BTW - they seem to still be available on Amazon. I'm all about online shopping.

Never heard of them and I work retail (guess I have to leave the back office now and again LOL). I remember the Furby craze all to well. The store where I work decided to keep them at the layaway counter and send people there to get them and I got stuck working layaway. The disagreements I had with people because it was only one per person and they couldn't go on layaway ***shudders****

Thankfully my son is only 22 months and I don't ahve to worry about the latest craze just yet.

I haven't heard of them either but I'm more than happy about that! The only thing both kids have been consistant about really wanting were guitars. Most other things are asked about when a commercial or something is on and then forgotten...=)

I know what they are. Most of my daughters freinds have asked their parents for them. When I was out shopping last weekend I had numerous mothers asking me if I had seen them anywhere, because they are sold out pretty much everywhere at least you cannot find them here. Fortunately for me my daughter is not that into them and has not asked for one. She has had real hamsters so the thrill of a fake one just doesn't fill her with delight. She has asked for barbies, wizards of waverly place stuff, ICarly stuff, books, and DS games.

I had never heard of them and I still didn't know what they really are but I was at a ToysRUs store weeks ago and was standing in line at the register, which was right next to the customer service. A woman approached and asked about these toys and the ToysRUs lady told her that she only had 2 left (behind the counter) and this woman said "well, I guess I'll take both of them then & practically yanked them out of the lady's hands. So I guess you're right - it's a hot item. I'm glad my son isn't old enough for "hot items" yet.

Not a clue what these things are. None of mine even asked for anything like you've described. LOL! Off to google.

I've never heard of them! Our oldest is obssesed with Pixie Hollow right now, so we're renewing her membership on the Pixie Hollow social netowrking site for little girls and we're getting her a lot of the little trinkets and such that have codes to get her cool exclusive stuff on there. Our middle daughter wants a play kitchen and our youngest is only 9 months old, so she could care less!

I've never heard of them.......

My daughter just wants more Barbies *sigh*.

We've bought Wii and WiiFit for the family.

I really haven't kept up with what the hot gifts of the year are. Still no idea what to get the boys - tweens are so hard to buy for. And forget the 17 year old - I will let her choose what she wants, because we are bound to get it wrong. Might check around for what concerts are coming to town in the next 6 months.....

Guess I should also post that I must have been anticipating this as I had purchased them about a month ago, not knowing how popular and crazy this toy would be. Almost like another Tickle Me Elmo year.
