My daughter is 3 yrs old and her step dad has been in her life since she was 6 months old. For the past 4 months my daughter has not been listening to her step dad when he asks her to stop a behaviour and she always waits until I have to tell her to stop. Also at bedtime we have been very consistent on the routine before bedtime everynight but for the past few months she will not stay in bed and cries for about 5 min every night. What can we do to make her listen to both of us and also stay in bed and no crying? Please Help!!

Thank you for the replies, I am happy to know other people have the same problem. I started a chart that lists Bedtime, listening, no time outs, helping mommy and Daddy..etc so we go through this everyday and if she does really good at these then she gets to put a sticker beside each one or which ever one she accomplished. I just started this yesterday so I am hoping since it will be visiable for her to see that hopefully it will be one step to start getting through all of this..crossing my fingers :)

She sounds like a normal 3 year old. Mine does the same thing. Well, minus the bedtime thing. She's been going to bed pretty easy lately ever since we stopped making her take naps during the day. She goes to bed early and no fighting. :D

I don't know. But if you find the magic cure, tell me.

Kids at this age are testing boundaries. My daughter is 2 1/2 and it is hell trying to get her to listen.
