How can you get a 11 year old to regain her confidence/self-esteem back?

I don't know this little girl or your budget, but most 11-year-olds would be thrilled to get some riding/grooming/general taking care of horses lessons. That way she learns a skill and also has something she really looks forward to.

"You can't do it for her" -- So true....you can't walk this road FOR her but you can surely walk this road WITH her. Tonja, my daughter is a little bit older and had similar issues. Maybe they could pen pal?? Always nice to have someone to vent to that is not in the situation. We also found other activities that took her away from the bullying and that helped a lot.

You can't do it for her. True self-confidence is built on your own through actions that validate one's existence. Elfrieda's suggestion is great. So would be community service, volunteer work, getting engaged in a hobby that she truly enjoys. HOpe that helps.

Yes, she has problem with girls at school. She tries so hard to be friends with the girls, but finds that they are rejecting her. Shes a beautiful loving little girl and she doesn't see it. Trying to build her confident up is mind bottling for me. She is 11 and my son is 23, so there is a big gap in between. Lived in Dallas, she was involved in a lot of activities and I was involved in her school. Move to Carrollton a year ago and she has not been involve in anything, and I am not to involved into her school as much anymore. Father no longer around, having a difficult time with that also. Just trying to find out what can I do.

A single parent trying to make a Beautiful Loving 11 year knows that she is very precious.

Maybe something is going on at school that is making her this way?
