Do you think this will help?

I agree with all that...BUT...China didn't schedule them to work 32 hour shifts...and have them sleep at work...Apple did.

Enjoy your Macs folks

China didn't put these people under this strain...Apple did. I've posted this in at least 5 threads in the past 6 months...I guess nobody reads the fine details ;)

I agree with Sherri. There is a lot of pressure put on asians for different reasons. I have known a number of asians over the years though and they seem to deal pretty well.

When I read this:

"He said the government was joining with police and Foxconn to consider a range of ideas such as building up sports and cultural facilities to improve the living environment, Xinhua reported.

The firm was training about 100 mental health counselors and installing 1.5 million square meters of netting,
"Although this seems like a dumb measure, at least it could save a life should anyone else fall," Gou was quoted as saying.

I nearly spit my coffee all over the keyboard. Maybe this netting will save someone else if they FALL????? They are not falling to their deaths, they are JUMPING.
Why??? Well they live in the factory where they work. (sounds a little like Myanmar) and they work round the clock shifts... and they are migrant workers from the hinterlands of China's rural community.
This sickens me... and I'm glad I don't own an Iphone. Soon they'll start calling them "blood phones" like "blood diamonds".
When will the world start demanding that China and all other human rights abusers start treating their workers like people? and not like prisoners?

It came up in class today. We were discussing how psychoanalysis is becoming really popular in China, and then our professor mentioned the I Phone suicides. No one in the class had heard of this, and it is so sad and unbelievable

I want to say I'm shocked, but the suicide rate in China is so high. I am shocked however that it's over this.
