Is your life like a soap opera?

Ladies, I am curious to know if any of you watch multiple soap operas or have a favourite soap opera you like to watch daily?

Some people who watch them (usually more than one daily) claim that their life is like a soap opera because they take them too seriously. Do you know anyone who does this?

I watch Days, but it's not the end of the world if I miss it. I didn't watch today because my husband has the day off and gets mad at me for watching soaps. I used to watch more in university, at one point even recording them when I wasn't home. That was pathetic.
My life has NO resemblance to a soap opera, thank goodness!

I watched them in college, but no more...I don't miss it...I get enough drama with 3 younger sisters!

i love my stories, lol! i watch all my children, one life to live, and general hospital almost everyday. i think i need the drama on tv to make up for how boring my life actually is.

Drama used to follow me everywhere I went. So I just stopped going anywhere and stayed away from women. Problem solved.

No drama here, except of the mild teenage variety. My son has a lot of friends who are girls and they come here to talk to him, and he'll bring me in on it for my advice, so I have to step into the drama scene for a short time every once in a while and then back to my nice, stable, normal and over all fairly dull life. :0

Nope. My life is pretty tame. I keep it that way.

No drama means a stable life and home for my kids. I do enjoy my night time drama stories.

I refuse to allow people with drama into my life. Who needs it?

I only watch one soap and that is Hollyoaks, it's my guilty pleasure, I know it is rubbish but it gives me 30 mins of brain dead time a day.

My life is far too boring to be a soap opera people wouldn't watch it, I am very normal. Although i have friends who have major dramas over everything, they have to exagerate everything, and they have to outdo anything you have to say. I just can't seem to not be friends with these people because they mean no harm and just don't think before they open their mouths.

The odd time if I miss a day of DOOL, it so happens it is the day where something out of the blue happens or the climax in a storyline and then I go back to watching the next day and i'm thinking, "what the heck, I missed one day."

I don't watch them, but honestly, the way my daughter tells stories about her school day, I don't need to - there is enough drama there to keep me entertained!! SUCH a drama queen that girl.

My sister and I love bold and the beautiful , we sit on the couch and drink out of our "ridge" and "stephanie" mugs , the mugs are a big joke but we do like our bold and the beautiful arvo cuppa and catch up !

But PASSIONS oh i miss that show , i used to run home from school just to watch it .

I dont take it seriously i think they are corny as hell but thats what i love about it .

Is my life a soap opera HAHA no not since i was a teen/young adult wow you could have written a very drama filled book with that but now i don't have enough time or energy to get involved in shit .

I do not watch soap operas, but my life tends to head in the definate drama lama category. my friends are nuts and sometimes I am nuts. Ah well my son is very well rounded and does well with lots of different situations and people.

No, my life is not like a soap opera, thank God. I do not thrive on drama and can't stand to be around those that do.

Now for the other part of the question, I used to watch General Hospital and One Life to Live growing up and into my teenage years. I'm sure I could pick right back up where I left off as they never change a freaking story line. My grandmother used to watch them and I fondly recall her saying " It's time to watch my stories" So, sometimes I refer to my night time drama's as my "stories", it makes me grin. :)

I used to watch DOOL about 12 years ago. I was working nights and home during the day time. Otherwise, I've never been a soap opera fan and my life has never been anything like that. I've had a few friends like that, some are fun to live through vicariously, and others are just drama queens who are too much work and toxic to your life.

Jenn, I know a few people who are like that. It does get to be too much sometimes. My mother cries all the time when things happen on these soaps, but at least she admits that she doesn't know why she does it, it's not real and these people are not a part of her life lol. I personally only watch DOOL and I have been for 15 years now. I could never really get into any others. The only others I have watched at all are Y&R and B&B (both because of my mother), but don't care for either and back when Another World and Passions was on. I actually use to like Passions, not as much as DOOL. Don't know if anyone has seen it, but It was a crazy soap opera. A lot of unusual crap going on.

I had a friend like that. We were friends for 15 years and I ended the friendship earlier this year because I just couldn't handle it any more, especially now that I have kids; I realized that I did NOT need someone like that in my life and all she did was bring me down. There was always something with her - she even claimed once that she got hit by a car yet she had not one single mark on her - she exaggerates things to make them sound worse than they are, and all she does is focus on the negative things in her life. And she was very dramatic, blowing everything out of proportion and to the extreme. Like she would tell her kids to be careful around the horse at her Dad's house because it could trample you and kill you - like WTF?!? WHY would you tell you kids something like that?!? But it was worse than that too and never ending. And, when she would watch DOOL, she'd be crying her eyes out as if it was happening to her.

Now, do I watch soap operas? Not really. I used to watch DOOL about 10 years ago but now I might watch it once every few months if I'm bored or something. It's pretty easy to figure out what's going on because there's always someone being kidnapped (oh yeah she was always in fear of her kids being snatched), brainwashed or whatever other evil plot by the devious Stefano Dimera or Sami Brady. And no, my life is not a soap opera. Far from it actually and bordering on PBS - boooooring LMAO!
