Hi Judy,

If you want to maximize your chances of becoming pregnant and being able to carry out normal pregnancy you should listen to your doctor and wait. Your body needs time to properly heal and prepare for a potential pregnancy. If you do not allow your body to properly heal and ensure things are on the right track by waiting for at least 2 normal cycles, you can potentially experience another miscarriage because your body is not ready for a pregnancy yet. There are many ways you can prepare your body for a pregnancy and boost your chances of becoming pregnant. You can find a lot of useful information here: http://www.babycenter.com/302_boost-your...

Meanwhile you should use a barrier protection (ex. condom) to avoid getting pregnant for now. Avoid using any kind of birth control pills, patches, injections, rings... they all contain hormones from which your body should be free before you are trying to get pregnant.

Best of luck!

I am not sure if he is worried about another etopic pregnancy but it is a valid concern. I think it may have been more about your body healing from it.

I know we have been trying for over1 year we were told I was unable to have kids but then when we found out I was we had an ectopic. My question if the doctor said to wait to have sex until I have two normal cycles and I had sex before my 2 cycles, is that bad will I end up having another ectopic pregnancy

You had sex, of course you could be pregnant. If you don't want to get pregnant, use birth control of some sort.

ANYTIME you have unprotected sex, you can get pregnant. Men still drip semen when they have an erection, they don't need to ejaculate to get you pregnant. Use birth control if you don't want to get pregnant. Sex=babies.
