Do you believe in karma? Present karma, past karma or both?

I'd like to truly believe in Karma, and sometimes it really does seem like it exists.
Other times tho, you see nasty horrible people getting everything they want, and nice people struggling for everything and i wonder if it exists after all!

I think a lot of times people, from the outside, may look like they have it all.  But on the inside they are missing something.  Perhaps THAT is karma.  Just because somebody is getting what they want doesn't necessarily mean they aren't being bit by karma or whathaveyou.  There's a lot of people out there who are happy on the outside and miserable on the inside.

So, not to worry...they're gettin' theirs! lol :)

I wish Karma worked, I really do. But I see so many wonderful suffering such crazy unfair things. I just can't believe a kind & just god or a benevolent universe, whatever, would let these things happen to wonderful people.

And what about the children? Do children deserve to victims of hate crimes & pedophiles because of what they did in another life?

I totally belive in Karma... and I can't wait for it to bite one select person in the a** (no one any of you know, don't worry!)... I saw a bumper sticker the other day that I think relates too, "An eye for an eye makes the world blind" - My philosophy is that if you turn the other cheek and always be the better person (even though it's SOOOO hard sometimes!) then you will be rewarded somehow and somewhere....

I believe in it! I must say, though, I'm always confused when I hear religious people say that they do...aren't they in direct opposition (karma and most western religions)? Aren't the believe that the Universe balances itself out and the belief God is in control of everything mutually exclusive???

I think that some religious people do believe that Karma IS  the hand of God at work.  My mother, for example, is a devout Catholic.  She doesn't refer to it as "karma", but rather told me countless times "Be Careful...God has a sense of humor!".  Esentially the same thing, just phrased within her belief system.  (She finds the fact that I now have a daughter proof of her belief, lol)

OK...Thank you, that makes sense.  :)

I believe in what comes around goes around. You can be an ass, and you might live a good life and be lucky and stuff, but you'll get what's coming to you sooner or later. Generally speaking of course.

I don't really. I wish Karma worked but I've seen too many instances where it didn't.

I agree Sara. Not sure how I feel about Karma either way because I have seen so many good people go their entire lives without recognition or good things coming their way. I have also seen several "bad" people get to live out their lives reaping good from the wrong things they've done. It's a nice idea, Karma, but I don't think it actually exists.

I like the idea of Karma, that you reap what you sow so to speak. It would nice if the Universe held people accountable like that...but I'm not sure that it really exists. I think it's more that if you're a bad person it's bound to catch up with you at some point, just like if you're a good person then people will have a good impression of you and good things will come your way.
