Laser hair removal? Not really a debate...

Have any of you ladies had laser hair removal? Were you happy with the results?

I have been entertaining the idea of getting my underarms zapped! But since I don't know anyone in RL that has tried it, I'm turning to you, my trusty DM gals :D

It is permanent, however, it may take several treatments to achieve results. Perhaps your friend was just not done with her treatments Esther?

My friend gets it done and she loves it. She does have to have repeat treatments so it's not permanent but I guess you don't have to do it that often. Anyway, she's very happy with it.

I don't know if I'd get it done, but I'm not much of a hairy beast anyway, so it seems like it'd be a big expense for nothing. The husband has considered getting his neck lasered, though. He gets bad ingrowns when he shaves, but still likes to have a beard every so often. So he'd leave his face and the underside of his jaw alone, and would get the neck lasered, which would save him a fair bit of time and agony.

Although it WOULD deprive me of the fun of going after his ingrowns with the tweezers. I'm a bit ghoulish that way.

I agree stephanie! I would definiately be able to shower in 1/4 of the time if I didn't have to shave. Takes up too much time.

Julianne- You are VERY lucky if you don't have to shave! I could shower in 1/4 of the time if it wasn't for all the shaving, plucking and waxing! Dang, I'm kind of making myself sound like a gorilla lol. Ok, I'm not THAT hairy but I'd be happy to be less so.

It depends on your skin type and the type of hair you have as well as to what kind of results you'll get. It generally works best on lighter skin with darker hair.

My cousin is a dermatologist and just recently added an esthetician to her practice. I have a consult with her coming up to hopefully get my bikini area done. So I don't really have any experience with it yet but it's something I'm looking into for hopefully the near future! :)

I knew someone who had their bikini line done and LOVES it! I have also been thinking about my underarms...not that I have a lot of hair...barely any...but everytime I shave I get terrible razor burn...
Sorry yours did not go so well Stephanie.

I did it and have mixed emotions about it. I had my unibrow lasered and that was great. After a few extremely painful treatments the hair didn't come back. Imagine it, getting zapped right betwee the eyes. It doesn't tickle. ; ) But the result was quick and the hair didn't grow back, probably bc it was fine hair.
I had my under arms done somewhere else and wasn't happy. The hair still grows. I can see very little difference and it was hella painful. I would get references before choosing a clinic.

I haven't had it done myself, but I know 2 people who have and they love it. If I could afford it I would totally get it done.
