This is just... awful :( I'm glad the baby is ok.

What do you think about women who just leave their babies somewhere? Do you think they should be charged? Attempted murder? Child abandonment? Both? Should they be held responsible for the fee's of the adoption process? Should they be put into mandatory therapy to deal with whatever issues lead them to leaving their baby to die or maybe be found?

I hope they find the mother and figure out what her issue is. If she didn't want the baby she could have put him up for adoption, legally, rather than just dump him in a garbage.

This shit makes me sick. This woman should be charged and sterilized... people like this do not deserve a "second chance" at parenthood.

Not only should she be charged but these women should be given different color jump suits in prison so everyone knows what they did. I vote the same special jump suits for pedophiles.

She must have been pretty danged desperate. DAMN.

Sadly - yeah she needs to be charged. Then sterilised.

So sad. I'm glad the baby survived. This happens so much, I think these women are in a state of denial about even being pregnant. They hide their pregnancies, then try to get rid of the baby once they are born. At least they could leave the baby somewhere safe. Nowadays they have laws where you can take the baby to a hospital or police or firestation & leave it & the mother won't be charged. If a woman throws a baby in the trash or kills it, they should be charged & put in jail. I bet alot of these babies are from teens who are afraid. So sad.

my personal opinion being that i may never bore a child because of medical issues these women should be charged with all of that and then made legally to get their tubes tied.there are so many of us who would love to expereince being pregnant and giving birth that to see so many cases like this tears me to pieces hell look in the classifieds and find were it says family wants a child and take your baby to them no questions asked and its done....
ps. even tho i may never bore a child i have 2 wonderful stepchildren and if someone were to do this to either of them i would come unglued

There must obviously be something wrong with them for them to do that and be okay with their decision, it absolutely tears me apart thinking about a poor little baby left there alone and scared and abandoned...... My son just started daycare and before that he wasnt even really left with anyone to watch only the odd time, and I cry still every time i drop him off when I hear him cry as i leave and Im only leaving him there from 4-6 hours, and that is too much for me to deal with. From the exact second I held him in my arms i knew I never wanted to let him go ever, I just dont get how someone can feel the exact opposite and not only taht but just leave them in a toilet, a garbage, out in the cold ( oh i have heard SOOO many stories. WHY CANT THEY BE JUST A OUNCE RESPONSIBLE AND DROP THEM OFF WITH SOMEONE ?!?!?!

It is sad, but you need to understand, it isn't America, single moms don't have the options or support we have here. I pitty the mother and hope she is found and giving the help and support needed, also that this will give the government the chance to show what support and oportunities are available to single mothers. So this doesn't happen again.

I don't know this is really sick, but its legal to abort your baby up till the minute before its birth you can get the brains suctioned out which is really really gross to me but I think that is equally criminal to abandoning it minutes after its birth.

Tracey, I flew at 36 weeks. I had a doctor's letter of approval, but I was actually carrying very small and no-one even asked. I looked like I may have been 5-6 months at most, so they never questioned me :) I never needed to show the letter.

My god... I know this happens a lot, but yes, the mothers need to be held accountable. Haul them in and do a really thorough psych eval to determine whether it was gross negligence or complete, desperate crazy. Whatever the reasons are, its not okay to leave a baby in the freakin' garbage...

I thought you couldn't fly after so many weeks pregnant, was the baby premature?
I can't watch the video link as it is unavailable in my area but speculation here is that she was a maid going to work for a rich saudi family and had to get rid of the baby or she would lose her job.
Don't know how long the flight was but surely she must have felt something before she boarded the plane, she could have stayed at the airport and if she had to give birth secretly left him somewhere in the airport he would have been found?
Make it well kown where safe baby drop areas are and then if a baby is still abandoned charge the parents with neglect /attempted murder.
Like the idea of special pedo jumpsuits, how about tattoo pervert on their foreheads so when they get out of prison they can be identified?

I haven't been able to stop thinking about this the past couple of days, it's just awful. I want to know how no one realise it happened, where did all the blood go? Peeing in those toilets is hard enough let alone giving birth, someone must have know. I would have said that they should be charged but after reading Jodi's post I tend to agree. Plus giving birth can be a very emotional time, they could have pre natal depression and while it is very sad these babies are put at risk, these emotional issues should not be left untreated. Off topic and controversial I know but this is why I believe abortion should be legal everywhere!

They now have emergency room programs where you can bring the newborn with no questions asked so there is no excuse for putting the baby in the trash or anywhere else...
and that is the exact same thing Bethenny said on her show when she was in labor..how do 16 year olds give birth in bathroom stalls, but really anybody...i felt contractions for 2 seconds and was on the bell for meds..one nurse tried to tell me i wasn't having contractions..i said well whatever these are, get me something for them and bring me a nurse that knows what she is doing, come to find out themachine wasnt picking them up and they were coming every 2 minutes...

Lmao jodi I had nealy the same thoughts. Without a sound and what position??? Good lord.

Still the baby was found hopefully the mother isn't a deranged psycho & is simply a desperate scared person who will never put or be in this sad situation again.

I just wanna know how she was able to give birth in one of those bathrooms without a sound!!!

Seriously though, I am a bit torn on charging mothers with anything because it will discourage women who possibly need medical attention, from coming forward. From what I have read, this sort of thing often happens when a woman is so mentally disturbed that she hasn't even acknowledged that she is pregnant in the first place, so when she has the baby, she is able to just dump it and move on with her normal life. I don't understand it, and it certainly makes me sick, but I do think it is one of thos issues that needs to be carefully considered. I definitely agree with some mandatory therapy.....because a person has to be seriously disturbed to do something like this.

I will never forget, two weeks after Q was born, there was a newborn left outside (in January) naked on the steps of Toronto's City Hall with a newspaper tented over her...I was still hormonal after having Q and had to leave work when I heard the story...the ambulance was there though within 6 minutes and the baby survived.

That's so sad!!!! I can't stand it when I hear about these incidents. I do think that if a woman abandons her baby in a garbage can or some other dangerous place where the baby could die, she should be charged with attempted murder and child abandonment.

There may be more to the story than her having 'issues', though. If she's a citizen of the Philippines or Bahrain, perhaps it's more of a dishonor to her family as to how she got pregnant in the first place.

Either way, I think anyone who does that should be tried. It's a horrible thing to do, to leave your baby in a trash can like that.

[deleted account]

They have safe drop zones available, so by just dumping a kid in the garbage or some place where finding them instantly isn't going to happen... yep, they need charged and offered SERIOUS counseling.

Ugh, they should be charged. If you can't handle it, there are places you can drop your baby off where you know it will be safe like Hospitals, Fire Stations, Police Stations, etc. There's no excuse for putting a baby in the garbage, that just makes me sick.
