Lynching President Obama?

On the online version of NBC I just read an article about two incidents that (probably) suggest lynching the president. One was an empty folding chair with small American flag attached to it hanging from a tree by a rope in front of a man's house. The second was an empty chair hanging from a tree by a park near where Obama had campaigned in July. This chaired had a NOBOMA sign attached to it.

It is believed the "empty chair" idea comes from Clint Eastwood's speech at the RNC, where he used an empty folding chair and proceeded to "scold" it as if talking to the president.

Is this something that we (collectively) should be appauled by and concerned about, possibly worsening the race war or a beginning to the second coming of the KKK (which I realize has never actually been dismantled but it is no longer an acceptable practice) or is it something we should just let roll off our backs and ignore because it was only 2 individual incidents, therefore nothing to be overly concerned about?

I agree about prosecuting the offenders of these "death threats," at least that is what I consider them to be. The Secret Service is looking into it. So, we'll see. If anything comes to light, every big dog 1st amendment rights attorney will crawl out of the woodwork at a chance to defend American citizens from their American President. (gag me, not our civil rights but the fact the racist terrorists can get away with something like this)

I only read your first link because it took like a half hour to read 200 accomplishments, and then I spent a little more time looking up further details on some points. I'd love to post that on Facebook! ; )

I agree with Dove. I think it is very distasteful and I am rather appalled. Nothing wrong with not agreeing with the mans political view or how he does something but to insinuate killing him, that is down right low. As far as I am concerned, he has done a lot more for the Country than some passed Presidents, JMO.

Yeah, I don't think anyone should turn a blind eye, I think persecution is in order. To me, it is a death threat and is extremely wrong.

Well, he certainly can have his own opinions on the way the country is run, but I hope he does not become president. I agree for everything EXCEPT that he has done ANYTHING positive for this country.
