Do you remember how much your marriage license was?
If you don’t mind can you say the price?

Why or why not would you remember such a thing??

Someone I know told me she didn’t remember how much hers was and she got marred almost 3years ago, so its not like it was forever ago....

I have no clue, I got married 4 years ago. I would be shocked if someone did recall such a silly thing. I can tell you how much my wedding cost, but not the prices for every little thing!

I got married less than a year ago and I don't remember!! I don't think it was very much though...

OK so I googled it lol, and for West Virginia it is $36.

We have been married almost 10 years and our license was free. Perhaps that is why I remember it because I was quite shocked!!

I'm not married because the ever so mature 30 year old wants to play u love you i love you not...If he would grow up i would have been....now i doubt its even a good idea to marry him anymore....
When we went to get the license it was 110 i believe, it went up recently to 120?

Ours was $35. I remember that because for some odd reason, the City of New York will only accept money orders for marriage license fees. They won't accept cash or credit, or debit. So we had to make sure to go and buy a money order before we left for NYC.

we got married 2 years ago and it was $100. i only remember because we only had 2 wedding expenses : the marriage license, and the courtroom fee (also $100).

I remember getting the license, but the actual ceremony is just a blur. I remember thinking, "Oh, that was it? I'm married now?" lol

Oh im a bad mom, I dont know the times my kids were born (Just around the time), I also dont know their length. I actually dont recall anyone actually telling me the length of my children, and I dont think to ask.

And no, that is not like remembering when your child was born. That is not even close. 4:20 pm on Friday June 12th at 39w6d, 5lb2.9oz 18.5 inches. See, look how much I remember of that? I remember when I got married and the moment, but picking up the marriage license at some government office the month before is not on my list of life's greatest moments.

I have no clue and I've only been married for 3.5 years. I don't think I could have told you two weeks after we got it. But I just looked it up and it says $100.

I don't remember. I do remember thinking that the office where we went was rather small for it's intended purpose and it was depressing to have to line up with people seeking taxi permits. It was not a romantic and memorable event, Just another errand before the wedding. I googled it and our current fee for a license is $100. I have no recollection of what it was when we got married 6 years ago.

Oh, I remember how much my passport cost, as well as the kids passports, because I only just renewed them 4 months ago (I can remember that far back)..... $208 for adults and $104 for children :P

They probably charge that to discourage us from leaving the country.

But it's going to backfire - we've decided we have to take the kids overseas again to get our money's worth out of the passports!!!

$25 almost 7 years ago.

But I remember things like that. I also remember the cost of my driver's license, my road test when I was 18, the cost of getting a copy of my daughters' birth certificates and how much my passport cost. *shrugs*

I got married almost 5 years ago and I can't recall the cost. To me although a marriage licence is important as it gets the ball rolling, but not important enough that I would remember it over other things. I wanna say it was $35 because that's the number that keeps coming to me, but I don't know for sure.

I wouldn’t compare a piece of paper to my child either, but is it not an important time for couples, when you go in and pay or pay online…unless you didn’t pay, then I can understand you not remembering…

I can see asking on the spot, and the person not having to time to think about it…

But I guess that’s just me, in remembering something like that.

Kinda like a first date, some women and men can tell you not only the time, date, what they had on, but what they ate, where they sat….ect

And it matters, simply because I want to know….no hard core reason,

I just thought it peculiar that she didn’t remember, and so I came here to ask…can one forget such a thing?!
And I have my answer, yes….even after a short time, and so its not so peculiar after all…..

Now if its been a while, like Jodi, then hey I really get that =D

I don't remember actually, I have only been married for 2.5 years! I don't remember what my dress cost either. Money is not something that I think about unless I really have to. I just remember what a wonderful day we had. I certainly wouldn't compare it with when my daughter was born.

Why does it matter if they did or not?

I honestly can't remember. It was included in the price for the celebrant.....and I can't remember what that was either. I think the reason I can't remember is probably because the cost really didn't matter to me. But then, I was married over 7 years ago. I can't remember the cost of half the stuff I paid for. I can't even tell you the exact cost of my dress. I could tell you the ball park amount but not the exact amount.

We did our paper work about 6 months before the wedding and only signed the notice of intent to marry and showed our birth certificates. Then signed the marriage certificate on the day. I don't think marriage licenses are a thing here but I'm not sure. Are you wondering if they are actually married?

We didn't get one lol we signed a notice of intent to marry and the church did the rest. It was about $450 for that, marriage counselling, flowers, organist and the pastor to marry us on the day.
