Everything I'm reading - people with lung issues of any kind are more susceptible to dying from this and those with heart conditions.

This explains (to me) why pregnant women get hit so hard. Our hearts are already working harder, our lungs are compressed due to the baby (in the later stages of pregnancy) and our systems are jacked up to over drive trying to provide for ourselves and the babies.

Whats weird? I just finished reading a story about an agrarian world with little to no science being hit with a "flu" that basically wipes out everyone from 17 - 30. Those left behind survived the flu but were to weak to harvest crops or slaughter animals and were going to starve to death. I only read sci-fi/fantasy so dragons swooped in to save them all, lol, but well, the timing of the story and this epidemic is weird.

A six year old in the town next to me died of H1N1 last week. Perfectly healthy, but the virus attacked his heart. I think i'll be getting it for my LO.

I heard on Monday that the 18 year old son of a partner here at my firm died of H1N1. He had no underlying conditions other than a mild form of asthma (he was on various sports teams, had a very active life etc. so it wasn't a debilitating form by any stretch of the imagination). He got sick 1 week after he started college and passed away a few weeks later. The funeral was this morning. I never really considered not getting Lucas that shot, but I think I'll move up my appointment now.
