How insulting! I have never heard such rot in all my life infact it is so stupid it made me laugh! The public need to vote with there feet and avoid this salon. i could understand if this woman was morbidly obese and had asked for a deep massage. Becuase this would be physically draining on the poor massues. But to say fat people break the chairs is just insane. What is the world coming to, what will we have next a tax on big people because they have bigger lungs than the adverage person so they suck in more air! Stupid!

There are so many reasons why I think that this is completely unacceptable but I currently lack the energy to write out a long post explaining why. But stuff like this just makes me more cranky than I already am.

LOL Is this for real. Fat tax is a joke. They should get better chairs. Cheapskates.

That's disgusting. I totally consider that discrimination. That poor woman was humiliated.
If it's that big of a problem then maybe they need chairs that exceed 200lbs. Or like Sara said up the price for EVERYONE. She could sue them I would imagine.....I know in Michigan being overweight is considered a disability and if someone did that here.....Oh boy.

I agree with Sara.

There are many avenues they could have taken to cover the cost or replace the chairs. Which would be the route I'd be going if I had that many customers who were breaking my chairs often.

This is stupid. If chairs really break that often, the salon owner should take that into consideration when setting prices for services. Set the price $1 higher on each service for EVERYONE to cover the costs of repairing a chair. Don't single out overweight people.
