My son's computer won't connect to the internet. When I try to diagnose connection problems, it says "the remote device or resource won't accept the connection" wth is that about? The laptop wi-fi light IS on, it IS connected. But it won't load ANY page??

Thank you! its fixed... after WEEKS of trying this little thing and that little thing and running off to work (his computer isn't always here when I am) its fixed because I should have done this FIRST. you guys made me look for things in places I didn't know to look. I'm enrolling him in a computer course thingy for the basics. someone in this family should know something about maintaining computers!!!

ok computer illiterate here. I have a thingy that fixes my shit automatically. I just tell it to 'clean' "update" etc it always reminds me and I never have any issues. I tried to install THAT on his computer but since it won't connect to the internet - no go.

before I do a system restore, how do I optimize internet explorer? or reset the browser?

try resetting the browsers settings first, if you optimize internet explorer, it may solve the problem.

Check the updates for the PC, the OS and or/ the router...if that doesn't work, you might need try a system restore.
System restore should bring the computer back to the last time it was backed up, and may negate the connection issue....however, you may lose any new data stored since the last backup.
