Pamela Anderson flew into Montreal yesterday all set to unviel her new ad campaign for animal rights group, PETA.
But the ex-Baywatch beauty learnt at the last minute that the required permit had been refused by local officials, who branded the ad 'sexist'.

I don't understand why it has banned at all.
There have been lot's of ads with naked people saying "I'd rather go naked than wear fur". Surely this one is tame by comparison?!

PETA are a bunch of hypocrites, to be blunt. Did you hear about when they got caught dumping hundreds of dead cats and dogs from their "shelters" into other people's dumpsters? It was all over the news a couple of years ago. I think they have so many problems in the media now because they aren't as much of a trusted institution as they once were.

People Eating Tasty Animals - peta sucks ass. But banning this commercial was lame.

This isn't sexist at all. She chose to be in the ad, no one forced her. PETA does suck though, throwing blood on people and stuff really does not make me think twice about eating meat or wearing ugg boots at all.

I should ask my husband if the diagram on the ad is correct. He always says that there are only two cuts that are different between a human and a pig. Oh, the odd things you hear from butchers...

LOL @ some of the PETA comments!!!
I always say pigs are the best animal ever, so much variety!!!
I think our country is being too over protective of our women. I agree with whoever said if there had been a man in there with her, it would have been different. Or if it had JUST been a sexy guy it would have also been different. (although I suspect there would be a group of men out there who object because it makes THEM look like pieces of meat) but that is the whole point!!!
The ad will surely get more exposure now anyhow!

I think it was banned because she has so many inorganic parts she's no longer considered an animal, therefore it's false advertising.

Really though, it's just silly how ridiculously people are with petas ads. I don't particularly LIKE peta, although they have provided me with quite a bit of useful information. I still feel they have the right to advertise. I was pissed off when they wouldn't allow the sexy veggies ad on the superbowl.

I see nothing wrong with the add (other than the fact that she's a try hard middle age woman refusing to give up her past lol). I agree with you ladies, sometimes Canada has a stick up its ass about anything to do regarding "sexism".

Sorry, I just can't get over that even in a national ad campaign, they couldn't fix her crappy weave.

(oh, and add me to the "I think banning the ad for being 'sexist' is stupid" list).

It's based on the idea that women are just pieces of meat...like I said, had it been a man along side her, it probably would've been fine.

as much as i hate to admit it cause i'm not a huge fan of PETA, i think canada is being a bit touchy on this. what's the big deal? i don't get it.

Sometimes my Country is stupid, had they put a sexy man in the picture with her it would have been fine, but Canada had a long and lovely tradition of over-playing the sexism card...In Toronto, when the Barenaked Ladies first became a popular band, they were not allowed to play in Nathan Phillips Square...becase their name objectified women...ugh
