My husband and I have two children. We planned the 1st but the 2nd was a birth control baby.I originally wanted 3 kids but now I know that we can not afford another child. My 2nd child is 4 months old and I have not started birth control again. We are only using condoms because I would like to try permanent birth control (Essure)but have to wait til my deductible is met with my insurance to afford the procedure.I dont want to take pills in the meantime because Im not good at remembering to take them everyday at same time. What other options work well and may be covered by insurance?

I know people who've become suicidal with the shot...and there's no getting off it once you've done it you're stuck with whatever side effects you get for 3 months

I tried the patch. It made my breast super sore and gave me acne. Plus, they do fall off. They make out like they are indestructible, but I never really knew if it was falling off a bit, was I still protected. I wouldn't reco it, but I'm sure it has worked for some people.

Oh and you still have to remember to put it on too.

I wouldnt necessarily mind the IUD but have known many women to have serious problems with it.Has anyone tried less popular methods like the shot or patch? The Essure is covered by my insurance but I would have to pay almost $700 to have it inserted.I dont know about anyone else but I dont have that kinda money just lying around.I would really like to get the most effective thing at the best price.I am living from check to check as it is.

I would say IUD as well.. It lasts 5 years so you could at least save to get Essure done in that time.

Wouldn't all BC be covered. I'm in Aus and I'm pretty sure my pill is covered by private health because it's for my skin but I have no idea if you're not here.
