I am not sure what you are asking about this piece of campaign propaganda. I am from Texas and I would not vote for Perry on a bet. We call him "Governor Goodhair" (a term coined by Molly Ivins) because he does have good hair going for him but not much else. He fell into the governorship when Dubya left to be president and s still governor mostly because of inertia. He has a tendency to speak first and think later, as well as shoot himself in the foot. His grades at A&M prove he is no scholar, and hie recent public appearances show he has some memory problems. I wouldn't vote for him for all the tea in China.

"Isn't his state the farthest in debt anyway? "

Actually, no. Texas is ranked as number four in the list of states with the LEAST debt. It runs at about $250 per capita, as opposed to California (number 47), New York (number 49), and Illinois (number 50), according to Forbes ( http://www.forbes.com/2010/01/20/states-... ). And that is without a state income tax.

BTW, Utah is number 1.

Perry's an idiot. The White House recently announced that American foreign aid will be going towards efforts to keep gays in other countries from being jailed or executed, just because of who they are.

Perry is against this. He said that American foreign aid should not be going towards "special rights" for gays in other countries.

Yep. You read that right. Perry thinks that not being killed or jailed for being gay is a "special right."

I am in Texas right now. The man is not admirable. I tend to think the economy in Texas is more or less stable DESPITE his influence, rather than because of it.

And the only reason why we're #4 is because of the damn bailout money. Once that's gone we'll be fucked again for sure. :P

I agree with Krista. Love the 'idiot' comment. Dead on.

Isn't his state the farthest in debt anyway? Do we really want THAT running our country? Ha.. no.

And to be perfectly honest, I find pretty much that whole message offensive. I've served with gay people in the military for the past decade. It's not as though they popped up overnight like daisies when the legislation repealed DADT, they are just able to be a bit more open about their personal lives. There was no uprising of horrific proportions or even much in the way of outrage when September 20th came and went. People came out about their sexuality and were met with a resounding "Meh". Most (not all, as blanket statements are bad juju) of us in the military honestly couldn't care less how the guy next to us gets his jollies in bed. What's important is showing up on time, following orders, and doing your job.
