I don't care if he did not like the way things were going after the plea bargain was made concerning the potentiality of the judges orders. It was said and done after he copped to the felony account of unlawful sexual intercourse. He should have served the sentence as recognized by the plea bargain no matter what the judge deciced. He willingly agreed with the prosecutions plea bargain when he copped the guilty plea. He did acknowledge having sex with a 13 year old though he did not acknowledge the circumstances, but the fact is that he did violate the law. I don't care whether he did or did not get her drugged and drunk or whether she has now decided that he should not serve any sentence, because that does not take away from the fact that he sexually violated a child, broke the law, and refused to do fullfill his sentence. Now he should not only serve what was going to originally be agreed to under the plea but also extra time for evading the law, because what kind of precidence will this set if he does not. I mean come on now Mary Kay served her time for sleeping with a student who is now her husband and father of her kids.

Quoting Loureen:

Interesting fact : his pregnant wife , Sharon Tate was murdered by Charles Manson's minions .
Crazy hey !
what a twisted life this man has lived .

Honestly, I think public sympathy has been so great for him because of the murder of Sharon Tate.  Somehow, I don't think she would approve.

The Manson Family Murders always fascinated me... I had been meaning to start a thread on here about Manson.... oddly enough pretty much all of the people murdered the night Sharon Tate was murdered were 'famous' people - heirs and from richie rich families.

The fact that Polanski wasn't there the night Tate was murdered is a shame, Mansons lil family should have waited a lil bit and took out him instead of the people they did...

I know, I've heard it said that he should have been killed instead of her. People are pretty up in arms about this guy.

I agree completely, I don't understand why anyone would be sticking up for him. I'm taking names though.....not that I can do anything about it. lol But, I will think twice before I hand them my money at the theater or anywhere else.

He drugged and raped a thirteen year old , i don't care if it was 30 years ago he is STILL a criminal and should be brought to justice , it makes me sick that people are sticking up for him .

Sara, I agree. I'm surprised that CNN is taking this slant. I put up a link for Fox news but it wouldn't work. I urge everyone to go there and check out this story also. I can't believe how many people are making excuses for this man. Disgusting.

The man is a pedophile who unlawfully fled the country in order to avoid sentencing. I feel sorry for the girl/woman involved that she has to go through this every time the case is reopened, but you know who's fault that is? Roman Polanski's. That article kind of makes it seem that the law reopens that poor girl's wounds every time the case is reopened, but it could have been behind them both long ago if Roman Polanski had not fled the country. Gimme a break. He needs to take responsibility for his actions and the fact that what he did was wrong.
