So my son has to be sleep deprived for his EEG today. I had to keep him up two hours past his bedtime, and then wake him up at 6am.

I assume they are going to give him some sleep medication so he will sleep during the EEG.

I also had to wash his hair last night, so it would be clean and dry today.

Keeping him up was easy enough. After we were all settled and I was ready to go to bed my baby girl decided sleep was so five minutes ago, OMG and was up until 2am! Yay! Then my son decided sleep was so five minutes ago and was up until 3am! Yay! Then the alarm went off at 6am! The kids were happy to wake up.....and who is this supposed to make sleep deprived?

There has to be a better way of ensuring the child sleep during an EEG than this?

Are you sure? I was given sleep medication when I had my EEGs when I was a kid. It didn't end up putting me to sleep, and I remember feeling groggy all day after the test was done

I was also older when this happened, so maybe they only give medication to kids over a certain age?

They can't put him to sleep or give him anything that will alter his normal heart rate etc.
That sucks though. Hopefully you can nap today when they do!! If not it looks like an early bed time for mommy tonight!
