so here we go...possibly

[deleted account] ( 32 moms have responded )

I've gotten maybe 2 hours of real sleep tonight. Here I am at 4 am...timing contractions. It's been going on for a few hours now. The contractions are super light and not getting much stronger and aren't consistent with their timing...but they are fairly close together...anywhere from 5-10 minutes apart. I have a sudden urge to walk around the block, but I settled on cleaning the infant car seat I just pulled out of storage. Yeah, we are so organized and ready for this baby...lol.

My husband is sleeping, but should be awake within the next hour. I don't know if this is "real labor" but I'm kind of giddy and had to tell someone. After Jason gets up we'll take our walk and see what that does for these contractions. Real labor or not...either way is fine. It's a little early for baby to come, so if he/she wants to stay in a bit longer I'd actually prefer it. On the other hand...get this thing outta me!

I know, right? It's everyone's dream to loose a few weeks at the end...without harm to the baby...and I did it just by being scatterbrained!

Yes, we've settled on names. Gabriel Lee for a boy. Jacey Lynn for a girl. =)

Sara that is great at least the baby is in the right position for that VBAC. Fancy losing 2 weeks of pregnancy now that is some baby brain action right there ;-) .

Hehehe isn't it nice to know two weeks of pregnancy have disappeared before your eyes?

Had a lovely morning at the doctor and then lunch out with my husband.

I was wrong about how far along I am...lol! I'm actually 37 weeks tomorrow. I was a week behind in my thinking. I feel MUCH better about baby trying to come!

I'm 1 cm dilated. But my cervix is still thick, and baby hasn't dropped enough. So I've got some time still.

But baby is head down! Yay! I was nervous that the doc would tell me I had another breech baby. I haven't worried about that the entire pregnancy, but this morning I suddenly got scared.

So, all's well!

Lots of sleep is good and so is being alone for a few days! Good for you:-)

Thanks ladies. I think baby has calmed down a bit and the insomnia has passed. I got in a good 10 hours of sleep last night...lol! Eliza is with her Mimi for a few days, thank goodness. I go to the doctor on Thursday, so I'm hoping he can give me more insight on what baby is trying to do.

Me too...I vote for at least 2 more weeks, but I am going to say that the practice contractions should stay! It's good to know that your body knows what it's doing.

I know you are going for a VBAC, so anything that makes a VBAC more likely is good! I'd worry that your doctor might give you a hard time if Baby 2 comes too early!!

Ooooh I missed this one!
I'm going to vote for Baby Hopkins to stay in there a couple more weeks and lay off the practice ctx ;)
Good luck Sara and rest when you can ♥

yeah my last one did that an awful lot towards the last month and a half, two months. thought i was getting into a regular pattern of contractions and then they just faded away. even was dialated, and lost my plug weeks early, and was still induced. hope that's not what it's like for you, but hope HE (hehe) stays in there a bit longer for ya!! :)

Good luck Sara!!!
When I had my daughter, my contractions did that for a couple of weeks before I had her. Hopefully you can hold out another couple of weeks.......

Sara - fingers crossed everything goes ok when you do go into labour - you can do it.

Baby Hopkins - stay put a little while longer, at least until 37 weeks so mommy and daddy can have a healthy full term baby :-)

With my first, my water broke at 35.5 weeks. I think I was trying to deny the fact that this was it because I had changed my underwear 3 times within 15 minutes before I even woke up my husband LOL. He had fallen asleep on the couch (it was 11pm). We finally went to the hospital. I spent the night there and within 6 hours contractions started. Within 2 hours after that they were 3 minutes apart.
I wish you luck Sara for whenever it truly starts!

Nikki, thank you! I'm 35 weeks...so it's early. But there have been signs of labor approaching for the past week. I don't remember such prominent early contractions or other blatant signs with Eliza. Ah well. =)

How far are you now Sara? it seems to have gone really fast! If you go into labour today good luck, I wish you a short and safe birth. Can't wait to hear if the newest Hopkins is blue or pink :) How exciting.

[deleted account]

Haha...thanks ladies...but it's now 6am and the contractions have started to taper off. False alarm I think, but I wanted to tell someone...lol! Will let you know when the real thing happens.

Awwww that's so cool! I'm envious I've always wanted to experience early labour. Too bad I went to 42 weeks with both my kids and was forced to be induced. :(
Congrats!!! and best wishes!

I remember when I was in "labour" with Logan it was pretty much like that. Then I was like ah nothing is going to happen and went to bed finally at midnight... 10 minutes later my water broke!
