As for the pole dancers, sheesh, I think they're working too hard! Men, booze, money, ummmm....you're gonna get paid! Relax, have fun! lol!

Why not...maybe it will eventually be accepted in the Olympics which might make the Olympics a bit more exciting to watch and then maybe I will start watching them again..haha.

hmmm, yes it is difficult, I suppose I could understand competitions, but the word "sport" doesn't seem quite right. and no, I don't consider dancing a sport either.

yeah i just watched our championships here in Australia , except we call the sportier part of pole dancing , pole aerobics .

I think its a sport and a difficult one at that , we call dancing a sport dont we ??

its really popular here , kids as young as 8 and as old as 80 do it !

While I don't think it is a sport per say, it should definitely have competitions. I'm actually learning pole dancing and it is bloody hard work! And I've been dancing since I was 5!

To do it at that level yes I agree with Dana that it would take tremendous strength and talent. It's no different than the lady who taught our daughter her hip hop though. The moves they do and at the speed they do it, she was svelt and strong. lol!

I don't think it should be considered a sport though. Competitions can happen if they want but it'd be like naming Miss America, Dance competitions, etc. a sport because they have/require a talent portion. Doesn't make sense to me.

Although I do think it takes tremendous strength and talent. I don't think it could be considered a sport. That's not to say I don't think there shouldn't be competition though. It kind of grosses me out too...

I'm a competitive poll dancer...NOT!

Looks like it takes some skill, but it does seem a little strange and slutty, it woudl probably be hard to be taken serious as an athlete if this was your sport...and what's with the music? Strange choice for this video..

Well, we have the miss america pageants and miss universe, whatever, why not pole dancing? LOL those things are 1 step away from these anyway.

but some of these ladies don't look graceful or sexy at all.
