If teenagers in committed relationships scored as well as those that abstained.... oh nevermind, I'm sure you all know where I'm going w/ that one. ;)

They're not condoning sex. They're comparing teenagers in committed relationships, teenagers who sleep around and teenagers who abstain.

The teenagers in committed relationships scored as well as teenagers who abstain from sex. No real big surprise there to me either. Even some teenagers can have committed relationships and they can be good for each other.

Teenagers (even some adults) who are more worried about getting the next guy/girl into bed then what's going on around them (school, work) are more apt to do poorly.

Teenagers have the body parts to have sex so yeah they will most likely have sex. It depends on the individual and whether they care about their education as well as their sex life.

I agree and science daily is a really good source. Normally their studies are pretty reputable. I just don't see how they canreally compare the two based on sex.

Define "poor" relationship?

Abusive? degrading? stultifying? People in relationships like that have underlying causes for accepting that kind of behaviour from someone else. So I don't see how they can compare the two unless they conducted this study at the same trailer park.

My friends who were having sex had good grades - they had to KEEP UP their grades in order to maintain their freedom that allowed them to get out from under their parents eyes and have sex. had their grades fallen - they would have been grounded and that would mean no sex and losing their boyfriends.
