Anyone else been hearing about this?

Tonight on 360°, we dig deeper into one of the most explosive claims being made in the battle over immigration. It's what we reported last night about how some Texas Republican lawmakers are claiming that illegal immigrants are having 'terror babies.'

Here's the accusation: Children born on U.S. soil to illegal immigrants, who are granted U.S. citizenship under the 14th amendment, are taken back to their home countries to be raised as terrorists. Then decades later the children, now adults, could be sent back to attack the U.S.

This controversial claim is linked to Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert.

"I was talking to a retired FBI agent, who said that one of the things they were looking at were terrorist cells overseas who had figured out how to game our system, and it appeared they would have young women, who became pregnant, who would get them into the United States to have a baby," Gohmert said on the House floor on June 24. "Then they could return, where they could be raised and coddled as future terrorists. And then, they could return, 20 or 30 years in the future because they realize how stupid we are being in this country," he added.

I think people who use far fetched scenarios as scare tactics to manipulate the masses into following their own agendas are far scarier than "terror babies."

I think it's just another tactic used by the media and government to scare people into accepting their war/immigration policies. It's a common practice in a lot of countries and the US is notorious for that. I think it should be taken with a grain of salt. If everyone sees on the media that all illegal immigrants are evil, then politicians have a much easier time passing laws against immigration... It's always good to look deeper into what we see on tv/read in the paper. I am always skeptical, especially when it comes to anything related to terrorism or any kind of war.

A tad farfetched in my mind, and a bit paranoid.. It can't help your culture of fear going on down there! I mean, there are native born citizens who do this too, who don't even leave the country to become terrorists, it wont help peoples views of foreigners IMO.

All governments have a long history of espionnage. It's always been extremely secretive - you NEVER hear about a spy ring being investigated before it's busted - that blows the whole cover. If this is true, and the people responsible are not in some form of custody or dead, I can guarantee you it we never would have heard about it. This is a big scary story to make Americans scared of refugees and illegal immigrants.

lmao...I heard about this when I watched The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Anchor babies...children being born in NA and raised up to be terrorists...pffft, please! This is right up there with all the silly controversy surrounding the mosque that is in the works to be built about 4 blocks from ground zero...p.s. it's an Islamic cultural centre and last I checked America boasted cultural diversity in spite of the terrorist attacks. Not all Muslims are assholes and not all born-and-bred Americans are stand-up citizens. We can't go on punishing entire cultures for the bullshit that's happening in their heritage country.

I bet Mr Gohmert also believes his neighbours' Pomeranian is a terrorist as well. On a top-secret mission to terrorize his lawn with his poop.

LOL "...how stupid we are being in this country." EXACTLY

Stupid.
I highly doubt there is any significance to this story. This seems to me like a white, christian texan politician who has his boxers all in a twitch and has allowed his own fear mongering gov't lords to brainwash him into thinking this crap.
So what was the point in his "sermon"? Does he wish to close the US doors to immigrants? Does he want to keep America land of the free, only free to immigrants from countries he approves of? Does he want enforced birth control for any women coming from countries who have a grudge against America the stupid? (his word~~ stupid lol still cracks me up!!)
Just another shirt inflated, white texan spreading his hate and fear mongering amongst the sheep who follow him.

On one hand I still believe it could be true, but on the other hand its also true that media has a way of swaying the public to think a certain way about a group of people, or anything for that matter.

Its not as far fetched as you might think.

Look at the russian spy ring they just busted. I know of two chinese spy rings that were busted up in the 80s - all worked on the generational link.
