And i could not agree more !!

AUSTRALIAN ladies are digging the tradies, finding their rugged good looks, great physiques and down to earth personalities a big draw.

A recent RSVP survey by the online dating agency, found 86 per cent of women wanted to date a tradesman.

Of those who responded to the survey, 40 per cent had previously dated a tradie, indicating that corporate suits and metrosexuals were no longer appealing.

All Stone Solutions' stonemason Daniel Wise, 28 said being a tradie had helped him pick up the ladies.
"I think women like tradies because we like to get our hands dirty," he said. "We are a bit rough around the edges.

"We are really laid-back and a bit more fun than corporate types."

Anderson Events corporate health and events operations manager Jason Thatcher said women were so focused on looks and physique the 'middle man' was being forgotten.

He said women had gone from one end of the spectrum to the other, originally wanting the well-groomed metrosexual before moving on to the rough and rugged tradie.

"People in the corporate world, who are also active are being left out," he said.

"This middle man is being forgotten.
"Are women forgetting about having a conversation, maybe that's it, they don't want to talk to them."

When it came to the sexiest trade, the survey found that builders were seen as the most appealing at 41 per cent followed by carpenters at 25 per cent.

Miami resident Marissa Bowden, 27 said she liked tradies so much that she married one.

She said her boilermaker husband Rick was very easygoing.

"He is very down to earth, which is really refreshing," she said.

"He doesn't have any issues or hang-ups and he's grounded.

"It helps that he's nice and fit.

"I'm pretty happy with my pick."

Jamie was a builder when i met him then a landscaper and now a fisherman and i can say from personal experience tradies are hot , well built and i just love that rugged , sweaty , " ive been working on the garden " look .

Not only are they built like men , smell like men ( and not rats that fell in the aftershave barrel at the perfume factory ) but they are handy around the house in almost everything and very , VERY good with their hands ;)

Please check the link and keep the drool to a minimum . http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2009...

Hey, a man in a suit and tie? That's not a bad thing, either. ; )  Especially if he loosens his tie and rolls up his shirtsleeves while working. Rawr!

Oh yes! My husband owns a company that does commercial fence, prison fencing and highway guard rail and sound barriers. He is still out there daily in work boots, jeans, and I LOVE his forearms (also love the forearms!) in the black t-shirts. He just could never give up the work to sit in the office. The fact that he was very ambitious and lived in work boots basically told me he was created for me. ITA with Krista. I will take a working man's hands over a man with softer hands than mine any day. If your going to touch me, you better feel like a man! Hmmm, might explain why we have so many kids.....

I'm an absolute sucker for a tradie too!! My last few boyfriends have been a mechanic, carpenter and electrician!!! Now that I'm a single mother, when I eventually do start looking for another relationship I may need to rethink this strategy though as it certainly hasn't been working for me so far :(

It's funny, too -- my hubby is embarrassed about his hands, because they're all callused and rough from work. I find them to be incredibly hot, though. I would find it kind of creepy to be touched by a man with hands softer than mine.

There's just something about a CAPABLE man that is seriously sexy. My hubby's a stonecutter. Oh yeah...you should see the forearms on that boy.

I totally agree! My partner is a fire sprinkler fitter. I've always been attracted to manly men. They gotta be outdoorsy so I can watch them cut firewood. Driving a truck is must too, not sedans or I'm out. Gotta be a music lover too, Nath plays guitar. And he's handy! We've saved thousands just in auto repair bills, he even replaced my motor in my Jeep all by himself. Tradesmen rule!

Jenny, Matt is the same way.  He just put new brakes on my car 2 wks ago, took him an hour and a half .  We haven't ever taken our cars to a Car Garage.  It also helps that he works at an auto parts warehouse, yay for discounts!  Hehe...
