Virginity to highest bidder?!

So I am watching the Tyra Banks Show at the moment and there is a 22 year old women who is auctioning off her virginity at the legal brothal The Bunny Ranch in Nevanda. So far the bids have been between 1 mil to 3.5 mil!! She thinks this is a womens rights issue and makes her a strong women......

So womens right issue and something to be proud of, or just plain tacky as all hell..?

I would never do this...I think it's terribly sad...I can't imagine putting myself up for sale, and I'm not sure what drives any woman to sell herself for any reason. I think it points to a lack of education about women's issues, abilities, etc. Any woman who feels the need to do something like this has missed something somehow...

The original girl who did it was just trying to pay for law school, she ended up with a TON of cash from one man who wanted to buy her, but ended up reconciling with his wife and told the virgin to keep the money. Then there were virgin followers who realized they had a hot commodity.

I support it, I support prostitution in general, I support the bunny ranch. So I have no judgement. Honestly, if I had thought of it (and if I wouldn't have been absolutely mortified if my parents saw the news all about it) I'd do it lol. Making millions vs sleeping with some skeezy broke teenage guy that I wish I had never met to begin with.... Not a difficult decision. Hindsight... 20/20 and such lol

I remember a story from a few years back when a college student was doing this to pay her school loans. Honestly, I think it's quite scary. How does this woman know who these people are that are placing these bids? I mean really what kind of respectable person would be paying to take someone's virginity? It's definately not something I would be able to do and I would hope in the future that I've raised my daughter to have more self-respect than to sell herself to the highest bidder. It's about as tacky as they come...

If you want to make money with your vagina and are an adult, who am I to say no?

" that really shows what type of person she is."

And what type of woman is that Terri ??
Do you know any prostitutes , do you know any personally ? do you have first hand knowledge of what "type" these women are , hmmmm my spidey senses , sense judgment .

Shelley - posted on 05/15/2010

Does anyone understand how this can equate to womens rights?
Is it the right to sell her Virginity?
Is it the right to be a prostitute?
because in Australia as long as your working in a licenced brothel this things are legal.

[deleted account]

The only reason it's a victory for womens rights is because it proves that a large percentage of men are morons.

Terri - posted on 05/15/2010

You sell it for money you are a prostitute and if she is willing to do that, then that really shows what type of person she is.

Karissa - posted on 05/14/2010

I agree, it's her right. As long as abortion is legal because it's a woman's choice then I believe a woman should be able to sell her body for whatever she wants.
Would I do it, no, although I don't have that option anymore. If I had known I could have gotten 3.5 mil for it...hmmm, doesn't sound too bad.

here is a answer from a man who likes virgins :

Men like sex, period. So yeah, we like the thought of sex too, with virgins and with non-virgins. But this one tends to suggest to a man better luck with non-virgins. (Better = quicker, eh?) After all, if you ever had good sex, you saw how much the girl enjoyed it and you forever know that a non-virgin is gonna be quicker and more certain because she pretty much wants it as much as you so all you have to do with her is overcome the legitimate concerns she has. With a virgin, you have to overcome resistance to sex itself. But it definitely lends a yes to your question even if it directs a man more toward non-virgins.

Men are fragile and sensitive. Like glass. Stong-ish one way, weak as anything others. One constant in men is performance in the sack. Why else would we give much of a **** about our wives cheating? Because we know if she finds someone... capable... she could turf us out. Don't need the comparison. Kids? There're DNA tests to handle those worries. Worse though, would be men walking around "knowing" they did her better than us, maybe even, especially even, men we know and see every day. Ouch. (They probably only have her statements, but in the circumstance, we'll both believe them, lies or not.) Performance anxiety. A virgin has no basis for comparison, we figure. She does... her friends have talked sex up to the point we usually can't actually compete, but we (stupidly) figure as the only one to ever "do" her, we'll be gods to her for the rest of her life. And any failure to please, we can play off as "well, it hurts the first, um, few times, and you can't really overcome that and orgasm." Yeah, well, her first few times were with daddy's screwdriver handles at ages 13-18, not right now. Ouch.

Men are often put off by competent, assertive women. "Lol. Gonna just squirt and roll off me?" she says. "Uh-uh. Let's shift a little here and you start shoving that thing around over this way and..." It's stupid, because you need feedback anyway if you're gonna make her your pleading sex-mastered slave, but gosh, somehow feedback coming like this kills it for some men. It's a branch of performance anxiety and a dollop of fragility.

Then there's the whole viper's nest of weirdness that leads to a non-virgin somehow not being... clean... in there (as if the penises and fluids of other men are still present somehow), whore-madonna complexes, and what diseases are crawling all over you thinking. Ai-yai-yai... mental problems are hard to explain. But golly, a virgin can't trigger any of those worries, can she?

A last big one is we are hard-wired for it. Follow the reasoning, because it's not the being a virgin per se, that is the desirable thing. A virgin is generally younger, especially today (though talk to older people and you get the sense I should drop "especially"), and we are hard-wired to associate youth, and various physical aspects of youth with child-bearing capability. Youth should be healthy and not broken-down physically (decayed), and so it is easy to see flaws in the girl's worth as a mother of your children. Any important "minus" is easy to see against the backdrop of physical perfection while, in a 25yo woman (this would have evolved a long time ago, not yesterday, and just not be evolved out yet) the important "minus" could be hard to spot in the general background of decay and decrepitude. Youth is important, because a 14yo has ten more years to live than a 25yo (or so) and would seem likely to be able to raise your children longer. Finally, a virgin has never been pregnant and so has never suffered the physical depreciation of pregnancy so she's in better shape to bear and mother our children. So we're built to desire the physical features of such youth and since we're always thinking (usually about as well as Michael Keaton in Night Shift) and part of the equation directly includes virginity, we figure "virgin" is a very good guide.

There's a real final thought, but it isn't mainstream anthropological thinking since that's still a field of mostly men (fathers in this case, and brothers) so I won't bother with it.

Put it all together and yeah, we like'em them virgins.

Even though its the non-virgins that are more certain rewards, and competent enough to pleasure us as well.

I support her right to do this. I think it is stupid and I totally agree with what Kate said. But nonetheless, it is really just a different version of of prostitution.

I wonder if my first experience would have been better had I done something like this. It couldn't have been worse I was date raped so the idea of choosing to do it and getting paid millions somehow seems nicer.

Kate CP - posted on 05/13/2010

I think it's stupid. Why do men want to have sex with virgins anyway? They don't know what they're doing, they have a tendency to bleed after sex (I did, anyway) and they get all emotional. Why on Earth would some one spend up to $3.5 million on THAT sexual experience? Morons. Men are fucking MORONS.

Jocelyn - posted on 05/13/2010

Hell I would have done it for my virginity (but alas I didn't wait until I was legal lmao). I'm not sure if it's something to boast about, but I don't really think it's that tacky. Imo, why not? It's only sex and if you're getting a couple mil for it, have at her (so to speak lol)

Charlie - posted on 05/13/2010

"like someone above wrote i think it is weird that someone would buy someones virginity what sort of a person would do that and why?"

Lots of people have their fetishes whether its having sex with a virgin , sucking on a persons toes or even men who have fetishes for pregnant women and some are willing to pay big bucks for it .

Shelley - posted on 05/12/2010

like someone above wrote i think it is weird that someone would buy someones virginity what sort of a person would do that and why?
It sounds really risky to me.
Once they pay for it they will be expecting something out of it and if she doesn't feel comfortable with that. Then what? he's paid 3.5 mil. i just don't understand it.

Charlie - posted on 05/12/2010

Tacky ? HA

Having sex with randoms in high school while drunk at parties is tacky and i can tell you that is how majority of girls lost in when i was at school .

She wants to make some cash , good for her it could be worse .

Dana - posted on 05/12/2010

I don't know, looking back to when I lost my's not as if I care about that person any more. It would be nice to be a millionaire right now. lol

Sara - posted on 05/12/2010

Well, it is the oldest profession...if she wants to do it that way, who am I to say that it's wrong? Honestly, looking back on my own life, I should've been paid for stuff I did for free!

Jessica - posted on 05/12/2010

haha oh yea, did I mention she is a University Graduate in Women studies....and even funnier I agreed with a comment Tyra said " Your such a an obviously smart, intelligent women and yet everything coming out of your mouth isn't! "

Jessica - posted on 05/12/2010

I actually support the idea of legalization of prostitution as well. They actually had one of the girls, the owners gf who works at the Bunny Ranch on the show as well and she thinks that this girl is basically mocking what they do for a living. Saying they know there craft so to speak and men pay good money to come to the bunny ranch and have there fantasies fullfilled by women who know exactly what they are doing. So to have this virgin walk in and be demanding more money for basically a crappy night, she found it insulting. And I don't know about the first case but this girl was a University graduate, the money is just a womens rights thing...

Emma - posted on 05/12/2010

Well considering how pathetic my first time was and the fact that the guy ended up being a total ass hole, Loosing your virginity for 1.5 mill dose not seem like the end of the world.
She is an adult and if that's how she wants to do it yippy for her i don't see how its got anything to do with woman's rights Im guessing that's just better than saying im doing it for the cash in her mind.
I really don't see a flood of woman rushing out to do this, but who knows 1.5 mill is a lot of cash if your going to have sex for money do it once and make it worth you while

Nikki - posted on 05/12/2010

It's pretty sad, may be they need the money who knows, might just like the attention. Imagine if this was your daughter, I would kill her!

I actually find it disturbing that someone would pay that much WTF!! Seriously if your going to stoop to paying for sex wouldn't you at least want the person to be experienced and know how to please you! I just don't get any part of it, very strange.

Jessica - posted on 05/11/2010

Lol I agree with most of you, like Jenny I think if she wants to and shes even going about doing it legally then by all means, have at er! At the same time though, don't promote it as a feminist " I'm a strong women cause I can sell my va-jay-jjay" It has nothing to do with rights and all to do with money and attention.

Suzette - posted on 05/11/2010

Part of me agrees with Jenny, the other part agrees with Michelle. lol. I don't think it's my business to tell anyone what to do with their body if they are an adult, at the same time I think it's tacky as all hell and don't see how it's a woman's right issue at all.

Shelley - posted on 05/11/2010

I think its tacky!
i don't understand how it equates to womens rights
and the Australian group isn't that a form of prostitution therefor illegal

Ez - posted on 05/11/2010

There's a similar case here in Australia at the moment. A 21 year old Sydney girl is doing the same thing and it's being filmed as part of a documentary. I think it's definitely tacky but it is her right. We live in a society where women are allowed to express their sexuality, so if this is what she chooses then so be it. I don't think it makes them stronger women though :-s It seems like a pathetic grab for attention really.
