Just curious of everyone's thoughts on porn. Spin off of another topic:

War on Porn- Penn & Teller Bullshit!

Edited to add: The video is to just stir up controversy. But how do you feel about porn in general?

If you love it, why?

If you hate it, why?

Is it detrimental to society?

Does it objectify the participants?

Is it a victimless industry or are there victims in adult porn?

Those hard cocks are a pretty big object in porn too .

Some people , men and women LIKE being watched , and wanted , like feeling like they hold power of another through sexuality , it is such a load of shit that everyone is some meek little strumpet with a " woe is me " story or a overly pumped testosterone fueled misogynist .

If you buy mainstream you know what you are getting and what they are getting out of it ........Jenna Jamison didnt build an empire out of nothing she is the CEO of a blue chip fourtune 500 company entirely built on porn and her love for the industry.

I prefer written-word porn and erotica. That way, I don't have to deal with ugly male actors, and can explore really raunchy stuff without worrying about some poor girl being drugged up and exploited.

When it comes to porn as long as it's consenting adults then fine, whether watching or taking part. I don't think porn in itself objectifies women, it's some men watching it that does that. If that's the case it's the man you need to lose not the porn.

I also agree it can be detrimental to a relationship but again it's not the porn itself that is the problem it's simply that people need to be in agreement as to whether it's appropriate for both parties.

I have no problem with it , I watch it occasionally .

I don't think it is always victimless but there are legit porn actresses and actors who are in it because they love the industry ( hello Jenna jamison , Ron Jeremy , Bella donna).

I also think saying rapists get their ideas from porn is like saying people who want to commit suicide get their ideas from Marylin Manson .

I'm not sure I understand the rational behind relating shaving private parts to a sick child fetish.
We shave our legs and underarms to be more attractive and that's not seen as trying to appear pre-pubescent.

I just don't like hair, I don't want to look like a child by going the bald eagle.

I'm a prude. I think it's nasty & I'd definitely have a problem if my husband was watching it. That's not our thing.

I don't think it's necessarily detrimental to society, but I think it does have the potential to destroy relationships when the couple is NOT in agreement about what's okay & what's not.

I like it, Chad likes it. It's sometimes fun to watch together.
Especially with Chad away, it takes the edge off those cold, lonely nights :) haha

I don't think it causes rape, or incest. I don't think going bald means that you resemble a child...I'm certainly not thinking about children when clothes are flying. I'm thinking about him.

I like porn and so does my husband. It isn't detrimental to society. Sex is the oldest profession in the world. It has only been in the 70 to 80 years that it has been a problem. If you watch the history of television sex was the forefront of movies. It used to be availiable for everyone to see in every movie. Every type of sex acts was shown. No censorship at all.
For someone to say it causes people towant to rape is bullshit. Rape is only about power and control not sex.

Ah, I wasn't thinking about amateur porn. I definitely prefer it. Not the fancy production values, but everyone looks like they're having fun. That's way more exciting!

There's nothing wrong with a little objectification. It is not always the evil people make it out to be. It all depends on how much control and choice the person has. If a woman enjoys working in the sex industry, who is anyone to tell her that she's wrong?

I like it. Damian likes it. No it's not detrimental to society, it creates jobs. The participants are objectifying themselves and I doubt they care, they're porn stars. It's not a victimless industry if you're talking about child porn. Legit porn that is sold at the adult shop has been filmed using people who are of legal age and consented to the sex. I have seen porn films where the "ohhh baby yeah" and the situation they are in and randomly start having sex is a bit too fake though and it's not a turn on. A lot of the actresses look the same too with long blonde hair extensions, square talon french tip nails, or too many piercings.

I find nothing wrong with porn if all the parties are willing to go on camera and have there movies sold to millions of people then more power to them! My husband watches porn every once in a while when im not in the mood no big deal to me

I like porn, Steve likes porn, we like porn together, together, together... sing along now....

I think I like it because the stuff I watch is usually stuff I might like to do in real life, like have sex in public places, or have sex while being watched etc.
If you don't like it, don't watch it, but don't go around demonizing those who do, and please don't say that porn leads to rape or incest etc. etc. it's just not the case. Sure there may be the odd nut job who moves from mags to porn to rape, but odd being the important word.
btw,
I have 3 girls, and I have a clean playing field, doesn't gross me out nor Steve. We both know that I"m a naughty naughty adult...

I had a difficult time wrapping my head around some of the posts in the other thread. Implying that the women were drugged and abused and didn't want to be doing what they were doing. I'm not saying that doesn't happen, I'm sure it does... but we're not talking about snuff porn here. I don't see a problem at all with mainstream porn. I don't think the women are being objectified any more than a woman in any sex act is being objectified. I see nothing wrong with consenting adults who enjoy their job, performing for us.

I was an exotic dancer and I never felt objectified until women started telling me I was being objectified. :/ I enjoyed my job and making money for being an exhibitionist.

True. There's also YouPorn, which is mostly amateur stuff. There are a LOT of exhibitionists out there, I've got to say...

Krista, it is usually the guys that are drugged up in porn these days, not the women. Keeping your dick hard for that long is now much easier if you take ED pills.

The woman in the video is nuts...even though I'm not a fan of a bald lady part, I don't think that means it makes men want to molest. In fact, my fiance and I were online awhile ago and were checking out some starlet's Playboy photos and she was completely bald down there. My fiance took a moment and started shaking his head. He said he didn't care either way about the waxing/shaving of a vagina, but now looking at it after changing our little girl's diaper everyday, he finds it a bit gross. So, if anything, men might just change preference for bald or not.

I'm good with porn. It is hard to find it with nice looking men, but if you watch gay male porn you might have better luck. Then you don't have to get any panties in a knot about women being objectified.

I agree with Krista E. That's how I like it too. Most porn is a bit dull really, and the people either look bored, miserable to be there, or simply exploited. None of which is a turn on. If the participants are enthusiastic and clearly want to be doing their job, then it's great. But that is rare. My hubby really likes stuff made by Nina Hartley that is respectful of women and made by women. A some of them are old-fashioned movies and some are sort of instructional videos for couples. But for more "risque" stuff, I'd rather read a story. Thinking that the person in a movie does not want to be there is a major distraction for me.

So, if you watch porn, you are less liekly to rape? Bullshit. Rapists get ideas from porn.

There are different degrees of porn. Pron is different things to different people .... And, I didn't watch the full video. It was pissing me off.
