Why is it that in TV and movies when an actor is talking on the phone, they always hang up on the person on the other line? Without saying "Bye" or "Talk to you later" or some other indication that they are ending the conversation?

It's like they're talking and mid-conversation they hang up on the person on the other line. How rude!

I always imagine the person on the other line continuing to talk and then suddenly realizing the other line is blank. "Hello? Hello?!!"

A$$hole hung up on me!!! WTH?

AHHHHHHH! I have always wondered the same thing! How are you suppose to know the conversation ended..by a dial tone??? That is too funny....every time I see it, it annoys the living shit out of me.

Haha I've noticed this. My partners uncle does this, my partner worked for him when we were at uni so spoke on the phone with him a lot. It came across as so rude. Eg. "Hello Sam it's Mike, are you able to work in xyz store tomorrow night?" "Yeah sure no problem." "Ok good" Click. Huh?
